If you're planning a trip to the Los Angeles area and would like to be a contestant on the Jim Lange of "Name That Tune" or if you'd like to see a taping of the show, you're almost 29 years too late.

The only thing I don't like is this version of melody roulette. Spinning the wheel 5 times with this would be much more fun.

I just realized an interesting rule loophole - if you buzz in and guess incorrectly, your opponent gets a guess but doesn't get to hear any more of the song. So once you get a lead in the round, you should just buzz in the moment the band starts and guess wrong leaving your opponent without hearing the song so the song is scrapped. Keep doing that until all the songs are used up and you win.
@LL-bl8hd3 жыл бұрын
I saw a player on another episode who I think was doing that. Or he was just really enthusiastic about buzzing in. They should have made a rule that you lose a point for wrong guesses.

Recorded from KNTV in San Jose, when they were indeed an ABC station to rival good ol' KGO in SanFran. However, given the title of "New York Vinnie" in the headline, I thought at first that this was recorded from WABC in New York City.

Especially the Golden Medley round. I watched all 20 of Jane Krakowski's episodes, and only two of them won the Medley. In Lange's version, I remember there was one month where they could NOT do a tournament, because only three people named 7 tunes in 30 seconds or less. In my view, the Golden Medley has to be the TOUGHEST bonus round in game show history. I'm pretty sure it was still rare when contestants managed to name all 7 tunes in Kennedy's NTT, though we'll never know for sure, since many of Tom's episodes are lost.
