The whole “effort for a $10 profit vs a $50 profit” really struck me. A true “duh” moment for me. I am learning to pick up much worthier items!

Risk it for the Biscuit! I think that the net profit portion comes in time. When you start the risk sometimes isn't worth it, but if you take those profits and reinvest into sourcing the higher dollar items become more attainable. I think that the worst thing I've had to overcome was taking the business personally as well. I would feel bad if there was a mistake. I still kind of do, but its less of a worry in that I have found my comfort zone. I feel like you don't have to relax your standards, but placing less energy into that worry and stress is way better. Thank you for your video and congrats on breaking $100,000!

Your story is so inspiring and I've learned so much from your videos I quit selling in early 2016 (really late 2015) and just now getting back to it... I worked in exchange for vintage clothes with an estate sales lady from 2011-2014 and accumulated a literal ton which I've stored and not touched. As I get back into this part time, I'm determined not to make the same mistakes I made 5+ years ago!

Hi fellow empath! I’ve been in retail my whole life literally! My parents raised my in the family florist business, was a big part of it until we closed 5 years ago. Worrying over customers and letting that seep into me has been an issue of mine the whole time. Been doing reselling since late 90s and I’m so grateful it was there for me when the family biz ended. Now I’m the proud leader of my own business with my daughter. (Still putting up that force field though to keep customers’ vibes separate than mine.)

The self-limiting belief you brought up regarding backbreaking labor really resonated with me. I am the daughter of immigrants who to this day are the hardest working people I know. They wake up at the crack of dawn and go to jobs that are laborious and barely make ends meet. For that reason, I've always regarded myself as being quite lazy in comparison, even though I am currently in the middle of my doctorate. I am working on realizing that working hard doesn't just mean manual, physical labor and that I deserve some credit.

My prior job (merchandiser) taught me a lot of lessons that I have brought into my reselling career. I’m a control freak & it took me a while to let go of that. I had to train people to do my job at other locations & I just had to let them show there work, while although I might not have liked it I had to let them do it so I could teach them where they went wrong. The other thing was if I made a mistake I would beat myself up so badly my boss pulled me aside & said this is just Clothing you are not saving lives. It’s something that has stuck with me & the minute I make a mistake I play that in my head.

Congratulations!!! That's seriously so amazing, says so much about your work ethic as well! Thanks for all the tips and tricks, especially the logic behind hiring an employee later down the road. YESSS you are so gonna hit your next goal way sooner than you think! DEFINITELY, gotta risk it for the biscuit! I totally feel ya on the scary aspect of showing your face I just started my KZbin a few weeks ago, but the passion outweighs that and the drive to help others means so much more and with time I am sure it becomes more like second nature. YES and you absolutely have to take risks up front for anything to grow and flourish - initial investments, time committed, and trying something new, I think its all essential to success, no matter what stage you're in and which next chapter you're trying to get to! What a great mindset Mogi! Hope you have just a fantastic week ahead! Take care :)

Wow! This was very informative thank you! I agree with your first, point about the expensive dress and the tank top analogy. It's really hard for me to put that into practice though for myself, because I have spent a little more money to purchase name brand or popular items, only to have them sit in my closet and never sell- even though i ask 60% off original price. All my money has come from selling smaller items. For some reason... Most people who follow me on poshmark want high quality name brands, but they onky want to pay between $5-8 dollars. I guess for me it's somewhat a different experience. But in order to make my money back and then some extra, i had to go with very inexpensive purchases and reselling items at less than $20. $32 is the highest amount ive made on an item- a wedding gown. It was discouraging to me but i only paid $12.50 so it was extra money
