100% Accurate Facts About Steam Locomotives

As an introduction to my "Those Great Locomotives" series, I kick off with just some general facts about the steam locomotive!

True fact: most steam locos come pre- fitted with a bunch of pocket watches inside the cab. The engine uses these pressure powered watches to make sure the tea deliveries are on time.

I know another actual fact, about steam locomotives, which I read in one of a pair of volumes, called ‘Wonderful Models’, by Percival Marshal. It stated that when Flying Scotsman was required to be exhibited in the Festival of Britain Exhibition, 1924, it was NOT available. And so, it changed its Name and Number plates with those of 1, then 4, 470, Great Northern. AND NEVER CHANGED THEM BACK. IF this is true, I think that it’s a lovely fact, because it means that the locomotive, or it’s framed and wheel centres, is/are the the first and longest lifed A1/A3, ever built. My late father was also born in 1921, but a little later. December.

Are there non accurate facts about steam locos too???? Another fact is some steam loco can't sit down because they have a tender behind. I really love your informative videos but this one is fun I love your comment regarding the p2 and it getting rebuilt
