If you beat Radahn, consort of Miquella, you get his armor that explains that Millennia whispered into Radahn's ear, "Miquella awaits, O' promised consort." That implies that Miquella set that whole thing up such that Radahn would die, but he didn't PS: The reason you need to defeat Radahn and Mohg is because Miquella uses Mohg's body to morph it into prime Radahn just as much as he morphs Radahn's soul to be that of his prime self. On top of all that, he then gets Miquella's godly powers stacked on top of that

Miquella is now the embodiment of the path of villainy is paved with good intentions. For all tense and purposes he has a point. The world of elden ring sucks, people are dying constantly, there are wars, evil gods playing their mind games, and more. He wanted the omens to be treated like people, he wanted to save his sister from the scarlet rot, he genuinely wanted the world to be better and kinder. But to do that he had to use his unique power to basically brainwash people for his grand plan, and then he had to give up everything to become a god just like Marika did. In the end he lost everything that made him who he is

Also they would of ended up like that anyways, he needed an emperean for his dynasty of blood and there's no way Melania or Ranni would of been options. So miquella would of always been the target. It also doesn't make sense for him to charm him before the shattering because he was cocooned watering the tree. It makes sense afterwards though, when radahn failed to die was instead rotted, and he couldn't grow the tree. There needs to be a plan B, and when he was kidnapped the opportunity fell right into his lap. He was definitely used afterwards but the initial kidnapping I believe from the games dialogue and timeline mogh wasn't charmed till after the kidnapping.

Miquella gave us the answer to the Marika/Radagon situation. We discovered in the dlc that St. Trina is a part of Miquella that he discards to become a God, and Marika probably did the same thing when she became one too (and just as St. Trina is Miquella's female counterpart, Radagon is Marika's male counterpart)

@Lee-km7qqMarika is always stated to have come first in the Elden Ring lore, Radagon showed up during the Golden Orders war against Lurnia which is to say the order was already started just not fully established which was done by Marika, also Radagon seems to not have as much control of their body as Marika does since she destroys the Elden Ring which Radagon didn’t wanna do, Radagon only takes control after the Elden beast traps Marika within the Erdtree.

Honestly , radagon is kind of a unique case in this because Saint Trina was Miquella, and his love. So the question would be not who came first cause it's obvious, but rather, what is Radagon to Marika? What aspect of her became him? Did he mean to be the regression or like Miquella her love or mabye her wrath given her lore all these possible because we see what he is to the golden order a general and we see certain actions of what he does as a person choosing to try to seek forgiveness and change as opposed to expulse and destroy, which is unique to anyone else in elden ring except Godwin who we know less about. But by the end he's the one that fights you not Marika cause now she is dead, truly dead.What you're fighting is a shell.We see this from how they're moving and since it is a shell without life like Trina he is left to oppose you with or without her soul she is the vessel still.

He was more loyal to the greater will and golden order then his carian royalty 3. @@geraldthegoose1685 many reasons actually. Firstly, all the reasons as to why Radahn stops the stars make him "not kind" unlike his description in the DLC. He was a major Golden Order Fanboy who were mad racists. Radahn clearly did not like Carians because it was a Matriarchal kingdom. He promised to be Miquella's consort but then refused? And literally not a single person knew? Basically, the idea is that if you simply replace Radahn in the DLC to Godwyn, everything makes sense. He was truly the strongest of all Demigods before even getting a Great Rune. Dude showed true kindness to the "rank malformed twins" as well as the dragons that had attacked the capital and made friends with them. And HE fits the idea of a Soulless companion unlike Radahn. Basically, the idea of Godwyn's Soul returning makes sense whereas Radahn never lost his soul, so how is it returned? By law, his soul should be within the Erdtree undergoing rebirth. Also, the eclipse does not occur because Radahn is holding the stars which is why Malenia was fighting Radahn. But now, why was she even fighting him if he already promised to be Miquella's consort? Did he simply change his mind?

@@gurnoorsekhon6402 it would make less sense if it was godwyn since he can't come back no matter what, the rune of death destroyed his soul permanently and can no longer return to erdtree for rebirth thats why his body is the way it now plus he already gets his conclusion in the ending which uses the mending rune of death that allows those who live in death to flourish his story is done. You are right that from a kind standpoint godwyn would be better but since he's permanently death the next best thing would be radahn. It could also be that his strength also played a role considering he was the strongest demigod without any the outer gods influence which would ensure miquellas protection While radahn was more of a servant to the golden order I wouldnt say he dispised the carians or his birth right considering the golden order and greater will permitted the marriage between rennala and radagon. If he truly didn't like the carians as you say then I doubt radahn would use any magic except for fundamentalist incantations but he doesn't instead he learned gravity magic from an Alabaster lord celia caelid which are a race that awoke when a meteor hit the planet so radahn is more open minded then others. There is also a portrait of radahn hanging in the volcano manor which suggest he was at least friendly with his siblings to an extent As for the keeping secret consort I would assume it was a vow/promise it was kept tight lipped I would also imagine it could cause turmoil between their factions For malenia fighting radahn it could simply be that once he refused miqella thought up his plan and so radahn needed to be crippled until a warrior finally laid him to rest. As for why radahns souls was able to be obtained the best thing i can think of at the moment is that miquella being a candidate for god hood that his powers are even stronger then we think or somehow since we have his rune it retains his soul somehow through weird souls logic

@@geraldthegoose1685 not really. There are more ways of reincarnation than simply through the Erdtree as we see with shabriri or the death bed companions etc. And the Dusk born ending isn't Godwyn's. It's Fia's ending. Godwyn had no choice and neither any character. He's the only Demigod that we neither interact nor fight with. So it would have been amazing. Also, we don't hear of really any kindness from Radahn other than his Horse. Radahn also likely disliked Carians or was used by the Golden Order against them. His story about stopping a meteor is likely fake to stop any suspicion as even after his death, the town remains safe and if it was for the town, he wouldn't need to stop all the stars which are important for the Carians. Both Ranni and Rykard hate Golden Order since their dad left their mother for it but Rykard still probably has brotherhood towards Radahn even though he's a major Godfrey and Radagon fan. And the issue with Malenia fighting Radahn is that either their "promise" is a translation error since the promise means that they were both willing parties. Or that they never had this promise. Meaning Malenia was sent as a debt collector even though there was no debt. All in all, imo a new boss or Godwyn would have been preferable over a reused boss. The rest of the DLC is God tier but this is a bit lack luster.

Miquella's actions truly bring up the question on whether or not he is a "kind person doing dark deeds because they are believed to be necessary" or "a child who doesn't understand the consequences of his own actions". His curse is that he will be in perpetual youth. When you are a child, you fail to comprehend how your actions have consequences, and you often jump from one idea to the next. At first he wants to help his sister with her curse, and while he makes something that helps it doesn't cure it. While he does this he notices how the erdtree doesn't accept everyone, and so decided to help, but he can only do so much stuck as a child. So he decides to ascend to godhood in hopes of fixing both. The only guide he has to this path is his mother Marika, and how she had to cast everything aside to do so. So he unthinkingly does the same, not noticing or careing about the consequences for his actions.

If this is apart of the curse, then Miquella becomes a mirror of Merika. She rose to godhood in revenge for what the hornsent did to her people the shamans. Only caring for herself and her pain, as there is no one else for her to fight for, and not caring about who she hurt to get there. Miquella rose to godhood to help others as he couldn't do it on his own, no matter how hard he tried. He cared about the people and so he did whatever it took to gain power so he can help, not seeing the damage he was doing to the people he was doing this for in the process.

Ive realized that to even get to the dlc, you HAVE to beat radahn and mohg, and then Everything pieced together. Why in the war after the shattering to become the next god, did every single demi god fight for power, except miquella? Then it dawned on me. Miquella is weak. Hes cursed with eternal youth making him physically no threat at all, unlike his sister, who is cursed with eternal decay. The one thing about miquella, though, is that everyone is infatuated with him. People and gods alike dont just love miquella, they absolutely adore him, and this goes with his power of bewitchment. Millenia, his sister who is also an empyrean and has every right to the throne as he does, doesnt seek the throne for herself. She does it for miquella who is too weak to do it himself. So he makes millenia, an undefeated force on the battle field, fight the strongest demi god the world has ever seen. She ALMOST does it but fails. Then we the player come in and kill him. Mohg wants his one dynasty as well, of course miquella knows of his obsession with this and bewitched mohg to take him away to then be "saved" by us the player. I mean who wouldnt want to save a 10 year from a supposed creepy old omen man. We all thought mohg was a predator too. Radahn in the final fight of the dlc uses mohgs signature attack with the blood magic. This isnt magic radahn even knew, he was a student of gravity magic. Miquella needed radahn for his power, he also needed a consort, same way ranni needed us, and marika had herself in radagon. But the thing about radahn is that he actively stops any other age from happening. He stops the age if the stars, he fights against millenia (and effectively miquella) all to preserve the golden order. So miquella needed radahn dead, to take his soul and put it into a body (mohgs) that he already had under his control. In one fell swoop miquella controls the most powerful being on earth, has a consort to ascend himself, slingshots himself into his own new age as a god without any rivals because all love him so dearly.

It's about proximity and motivation. We actually meet Radahn, hear of his deeds, from a person who respected him. We learn that he cares for his horse enough to learn gravity magic as to not leave him behind. That is something anyone who has had a pet can relate to. Or should relate to. That, and he enslaved his soul, and put it into a remolded version of his brother's corpse to be his husband... Ew. Meanwhile, Godwyn's deeds are only in item descriptions, and we see what he became with little context. Sure, Fia says that he's a good person, but he was never alive. He became something hideous and decrepit. We have little attachment to Godwyn, but a lot to Radahn. Also, the motivations of the characters comes into play here as well. Ranni worked for freedom. Miquella worked to enslave the world with bewitchment. There is a reason the two are viewed very, very differently.

From what i have seen so far (i haven't beaten the DLC yet) he doesn't have his signature bewitching power anymore. And i was not expecting his supposed mind control power to be so... subtle? Like the followers of Miquella seem to have been very aware of his influence. I dunno i was just expecting something more worthy of saying "thats monstrous hes pure evil!" And yeah Radahn is a cool dude that we do know much more then Godwyn at least personally. Though i still consider Ranni to have committed the greater evil of the two. I mean she literally tipped the first domino that caused the collapse of an entire nation. And personally sacrificed the only people that cared about her. All for an attempt to just leave the lands between which shows she probably never cared about anyone there and she knew it the whole time. And while Miquella did divest himself of everything that made him, him, he at least tried to fix the mess that was made. And i personally believe that Ranni messed up his original plans by killing Godwyn, forcing him to enact his worse plan B. But i guess i can understand where people come from when they say Miquella was the bad guy since he ends up doing some very messed up stuff towards the end in a desperate attempt to fix everything. Still though. Ranni getting near 100% love feels... weird to me. She just feels so manipulative. (Oh and about the pet thing. I have 6 cats and they are the biggest pain ever. Though i guess i never chose to get them so i guess they aren't my pets. Nvm)

It's clear that he creates a crown that does the same thing his power did. He even uses that power against you, the player. The biggest cruelty can be committed by children, because their empathy centers develop later and are inherently selfish. Ranni, on the other hand… I think she was disserviced by the translators. What she wants is garbled by mistranslation, but her motives are clear: she wants no outer god to interfere with the lands between. Not for herself or for others.

One theory that I saw is that radhan was the only one that wasn't charmed by miquella, and that made him obsessed with radhan, and since he couldn't charm him he turned to this plan, charmed mohg so that he could have his body, and made malenia fight radhan so that his soul coul be free, and basic reborn radhan so that miquella could use him as his consort.

At one ending where miquella is alone by a chair he said "Lord Brother" again, where most would think Radahn, but if you look up all the descriptions of miquella addressing Goldwyn it is always "Lord Brother". If what I’m understanding is correct then Miquella is pulling an inverse on what Ranni tried to do in Age of Stars, creating a world where it’s governing bodies aren’t controlled by eldritch beings like the Greater Will, only having to worry about themselves. Contrasty, Miquella seems to be trying to create a world where yes there’s no outergod influence, but nobody really has to worry about anything. Orchestrating large scale events that had drastic effects on the world over just to try and achieve their perfect vision. Although her brown hair is somewhat unnatural, who else could the item description be talking about. “Messmer, much like his younger sister, bore a vision of fire”. It’s clearly Melina, the maiden who walks alongside flame. Given the task to burn the impenetrable thorns of the Erdtree for the tarnished who would become Elden Lord. So yeah, this little theory is now confirmed.

The Black Pyrefly which is Messmer's butterfly counterpart to Miquella's Nascent butterfly, Malenia's Aeonian butterfly, and Melina's Smoldering butterfly. The second item that confirms it is Messmer's Kindling which states "The kindling that burned inside Messmer the Impaler. A dark thing, eaten away at by a wicked serpent. Burns the sealing tree said to be found at the old Rauh ruins. Messmer, much like his younger sister, bore a vision of fire." There was already enough evidence within the base game to theorize Melina's ancestry with her talking about "My mother inside the Erdtree", the butterflies, the Radagon/Marika children's naming conventions, but now we know for certain.

Radahn is a warrior at heart and the shattering was likely in his eyes a blessing in disguise, allowing him to battle endlessly and possibly eliminating any interest Radahn may have had in being Miquella's consort. If you remember the trailer cinematic depicting the battle between Malenia and Radahn, just before Malenia blooms she whispers something into Radahn's ear that we do not hear, and in the dlc we finally know what she said through Young Radahn's armor set "When Malenia, Blade of Miquella, let the rotflower blossom in Aeonia, Radahn heard a murmur in his ear- "Miquella awaits thee, O promised consort."

My idea for Miquella's consort was originally Lord Godwyn since in the sword's description Miquella refers to Godwyn as Lord Brother. Godwyn was the first demigod to show compassion to the dragon and so gained the love of dragons and this drew the eye of miquella to vow to have Godwyn as his consort. The eclipse was to ensure that godwyn died a true death so that his soul would be able to go to the land of shadow where Miquella was waiting. In the memory after fighting Consort Radahn we see miquella talking to Lord Brother which is Lord Godwyn. But since Godwyn died in soul alone it was impossible for his soul to be reincarntaed into Lord Mohg's body so he instead turned his sights to Radahn who was against it. This is why he sent "His Loyal Blade" to kill the "Champion of The Festival" the titles that Miquella gave to Malenia and Radahn respectively in the beginning of his boss fight.

You’ve probably already heard this, but you can find St. Trina in the DLC. She’s an NPC that you can interact with after defeating the Putrescent Knight in the Stone Coffin Fissure. Imbibe her Nectar 6 times to exhaust her dialogue to get some neat lore and a summonable NPC ally for the final two boss fights, (assuming you do Thiollier’s quest line also).

I think the DLC has led many people to make unsubstantial claims about the nature of Miquella and his actions. The thing here is he is truly kind, pure and radiant. Ansbach said so himself: "pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men." In the same breathe, he says he is a monster. These claims are not contradictory at all. He truly wants to herald the age of compassion. There is no evidence whatsoever in the game pointing to whether he brainwashed Radahn into his goal. We never got a change to talk to him like we did with Ranni.

i think i figured out the mechanic behind the castle sol ritual. so, the outer gods are from space, right? and we know the outer god of sorcery is represented by the moon(s). we also see a lot of solar symbolism with the fell god of the giants (lots of circles surrounded by lapping flames or rays), and we hear of a blood star that grants power on the forsaken like the formless mother does. so, that implies each outer god has a celestial symbol attached to them, the moon, the sun, a specific star, whatever. so, it's my theory that the eclipse represents the outer god of death, the one that sent the twinbird and it's deathbirds. that means that what the phantom is saying with "our prayers were lacking" is "i'm sorry lord miquella, we failed to call the outer god of death". the death outer god is capable of flat out resurrection, shown with fia's quest and the death ritual spear's description, so miquella likely assigned castle sol to attempt to revive godwyn's soul through rituals to the death god. why? because _radahn wasn't his first choice for consort._

By your logic we should be able to defy his will and keep fighting, yet our character can't anymore 🤔 If Radahn wanted to go with miquella and forsake the order he's extremely loyal to, why did he fight back against malenia when she came to bring deliver him to miquella? He even resisted so far that he was a rotten corpse still serving the golden order by holding back the stars. It’s an interesting concept, a “World of Kindness” in Elden Ring. But what would that look like in The Lands Between? My best summation is that Miquella would place any who sought his Order a world of Dreams and Slumber. And while they sleep and dream, their mindless (perhaps even headless) bodies would act in defense of Miquella’s Domain. The Golden Order and the affects of Unalloyed Gold implies that the symbolism of “Unalloyed” being an Order of purification from any Greater Will. Just as an Eclipse does not harm the Sun so much as undermines its authority, Miquella would seek to Undermine the Greater Will and other Outer Gods by harvesting the relinquished Wills of his Dreamers to maintain a dreamscape where all could be free of Outer Influences while also removing their influence from the Waking World. Just a theory on what a world of “KINDNESS” could be in that world.
