Yeah, i don't think this is exactly what you wanted to see Nux. While this gives a rough description of the events in the Alien franchise, it doesn't go too deep into the lore of the xenomorphs themselves and why their existence is a threat to all sentient lifeforms.

The crossovers did fit into the lore. It was later movies (i.e. Prometheus and Covenant) that retcon lore of both the crossovers and the original movie.

Just know Prometheus technically is just set in the same universe. Initially it's very likely Covenant would've had a different story because there was supposed to be a Prometheus sequel. Possibly another film even after that, before getting into the Alien/Xenomorph story again. Covenant messed with this, since we got the Prometheus story almost completely scrapped in Covenant.

I know something that won’t trigger anyone if you get into the lore….both the real world ARG and the in game lore. Check out the lore and history of No Man’s Sky, it includes IRL arg gaming (including old Russian numbers stations), as well as a woman’s soul getting stuck in the simulation and shattered infinitely into all the players, Ai companions, and travelers. Also the lore for all 7 main species are insanity from peace loving traders who used to be the dominant slave driving force to omnicidal warriors that believe there are worse things than death. It’s a great game.

I enjoyed Alien Romulus but imo, it fell apart a little at the end. Trying not to spoil, but the last events of the movie felt like it could be avoided or at least I feel like they could've written it differently instead of using "characters being dumb or not listening to/hearing main character to advance the plot" (AND THEY EVEN ADDRESSED HOW IT WOULD BE A BAD IDEA). They do make a lot of references and scenes from the original movies- it's technically a continuation of the original films, but I mean things like dialogue or deaths being reminiscent of the first. There was also some CGi that threw me off- not for the whole movie, but you'll know when you see it lol
