You guys (and gals 😛) are already a reliable source of comparison for games, at least in my case. Sometimes (most of the times) you just can't measure a game only by its score on BGG or its popularity. Before I was really structured with games and I wouldn't buy anything that was below a score of 7 and I was really missing out. The most resounding example for me is Drakon, although a classic, it's also criticized and misjudged by many. And nevertheless, I find it to be a great game in its weight. To summarize, even though I feel I'm going a bit off-topic, your recommendations and even the sight of your collection; makes it seem like getting some of those games like a pretty safe bet. You're already on my top 10 channels, so thank you for your hard work.

Such a tough list to make. (Strangely, it is something that will come in to play when my wife and I decide where we want to go)

As part of Team Jeff, I also agree with his interpretation of the list making scenario. One person had to make a $100 list assuming that is all the games they will have without games coming from the other person. I had also never considered Overboss but my son saw it in the store last week and kept asking to get it because of the cover art. Now with Jamie’s mention I will be looking into it. P.S. Not that it matters but I would have loved a running tally with each game cost adding in the corner. Oh, just came back to finish the video and saw you show the total. I’m surprised Jamie didn’t include a villainous title though. Maybe one of the $12-$16 small boxes. My list would include Raiders of the North Sea $35, Silver and Gold $7, Patchwork $15, and maybe Clank in Space $38.(not sure about Clank, haven’t played but it should be delivered tomorrow.) I might would substitute Clank with Shards of Infinity $15, Deep Sea Adventure $10, and Just One $20 for variety and quantity. Those prices are what I paid when I bought them.

I thiiiiiiink my 100 dollar collection would be... Agricola ($25 on BGG) Roll for the Galaxy($25 on BGG) Fox in the Forest($15) Sushi Go! ($15) The rest would go toward shipping on Agricola and Roll for the Galaxy (maybe a bit optimistic, heh)--and I assume I can get the last two in a store. These are the most diverse games in my collection that I love, so it'd be a great small collection--and I'd play my go-to solo game Mage Knight on Tabletopia (but buy it again as soon as I have the money!)

Its hard making a list like this. I love magic the gathering, so I think I'll start of with buying the card "blue elemental blast" limited edition from alpha. And.. Well. Super late on watching this one but loved it for many reasons: 1. Great lists of games and well thought out in terms of pricing and stuff. Didn't expect the stakes to be so high but that escalated quickly. 2. Yet another mention for Silver Bullet... Jeff, do Ted Alspach / Bezier Games have nude photos of you or something? :P Kidding, I might have to delete this comment once I eventually play it, if it's as good as you say it is. 3. Sort of a follow-up to #1 - the constantly changing criteria, mainly due to Jeff (Jamie - is this strictly an on-camera FtM thing or does this happen around the house too? Haha). I could maybe handle losing my games, or losing my friends, or losing the internet, or it being the zombie apocalypse... but ALL at once was an unexpected twist that could only be addressed by buying $100 worth of board games. Love it. 4. The overlap on the lists. One of you should get Hero Realms instead! I've played both quite a bit and personally I like Hero Realms more. It's newer, has better artwork (IMO), feels a little more thematic and satisfying (in Hero Realms you have champions instead of the bases in Star Realms), and I could be wrong about this last part but I think Hero Realms has more variety in the deck of cards. The champions definitely felt more interesting to me but I've also played Hero Realms much more recently. 5. The "no meanies or weanies" policy was a great start, but the "no dinguses" is what really sold me. We have a general shared AYCB Discord account but I've been meaning to make my own personal AYCB one to get in on some board game Discord action, especially since we've been thinking of starting a Discord too. Between the "no dinguses", the awesome Tablenauts crew, and finding out the Sports and Books sections are also bumping, you two can expect to see me there real soon! - Carlo
@FostertheMeeple3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha yes, Alspach and Bezier have a LOT of dirt on me. Including nudes. Send help. We are 100 percent like this in person with the changing criteria. It’s likely more me than Jamie but I love asking buddies “hey would you do X thing, and if so how much would it cost me.” Then, I continually change the criteria to make it as obscure and crazy a scenario as I can. Another example of us just giving you all a glimpse into our real life personalities haha. Please please join the discord!!! We’d love to have you be a part of it! - Jeff

100cad is roughly 80usd. Betrayal scooby do mystery mansion 23$, pandemic hot zone north America 7$, ultra tiny epic galaxies 12$, mint works 12$, a pack of poker/bridge cards (for party games), and a set of 5 d6 dice (for yahtzee/liars dice). Betrayal at house on the hill is my favorite game and scooby doo version is almost half the cost. I've got a crisis coop, a worker placement, a big management game (in a small box). I'm missing a deckbuilder and a campaign style adventure/dungeon crawls, and a vote on your favorite party game (like apples to apples or c-a-h). I don't like big 4x games. Runners up: coup, forbidden desert/island, dungeon!, exploding kittens, dixit (harmony expansion was cheapest), one deck dungeon, Mint coop

1. With two copies of Star Realms, you can play with four. You two *do* have friends, right? 😜 2. Wize Wizard Games used to be White Wizard Games. I wouldn't care about the name change, except that I know it happened because they are (or they think their customers are) offended by the word "white." If it weren't so pathetic, it would be racist. Hell, it is *both* pathetic and racist. 3. I don't know if you two are into Cthulhu, but if you are and you like Star Realms, you might want to try Cthulhu Realms. It is more-or-less the same game, except that the latter has only 3 factions and that there are more cross-faction synergies. No expansions, though, unfortunately.
