This is so awesome!! These short conversations are so useful. I have two questions that I always wonder about--using short conversation 63. I have a Chinese only speaking friend at the gym-recently moved from Taiwan to live in the US with his son. His English is worse than my Chinese if that is possible. He is a runner, and I am a swimmer, but we cross paths occasionally. So, in the question of 63--Do you swim every day? 你 每天 都 跑步 吗, which I can now ask him, instead of saying just 跑步。 So here are the questions: Is 都 required? I have see elsewhere its use being inconsistent for "every"--so, required or optional? The second question: I notice in Chinese that very often similar words are put together to encompass one thought, for example 跑 and 步. Similarly for swim, 游泳 In the answer you included only 跑。When is it customary/safe to drop the second syllable? 老师,谢谢

1.每+M.W.(+N)+都+V is a pattern to emphasize EVERY but it's understandable if you say it without 都, so you can take it optional. 2. You can drop it when the listener knows what the object is, like answering a yes/no question. Check out this video to see more examples:kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXPTnHeGqNyZl9E

Excellent presentation! But there's not story or connection between the sentences. It would be a lot more interesting, and "meaningful input" if there were some little story, no matter how silly, that connected the sentences, to make it more memorable.
