Brann is such a problem card at this stage. This combo would still be strong but not a basically unstoppable OTK.

Eh brann is honestly the most overrated card in the game imo, like its strong for sure, but it isn't game breaking, it's nothing compared to the nonsense shaman can do with their millions of battle cry exploits, it's a creature so it's vulnerable to lots of secretes, snipe, explosive run, sack of holding, potion of illusion, objection, ect. It's three Mana so outside of druid it isn't super easy to squeeze into big combos, honestly druid in itself is a problem, very frustrating class to fight, it's like they've based the entire class on breaking the fundamentals rules of the game lol

As a Druid main, without Brann or Denathrius non-aggro Druid is actually in a pretty weak spot even with the mana shenanegans, and both of those cards are toxic in their current state. Thing is though, Brann isnt just bad for the game due to Denathrius, which I agree is mostly a druid thing now, but most decks that arent going for Brannathrius still run brann because he combos well with multiple other toxic cards, including Theotar and Mutanus, as well as several coming in such as Patchwerk and, as we see here, Anubrekan. Brann is at the core of so many combos, the current battlecries are awfully good and he makes them even worse to play against. He is a fundamentally broken card at this point, and I dont think he can stay at 3 mana.

@@Grimfang999 but even as you said it's a druid thing, like I wouldn't be opposed to him going to 4, but that would make the problem even more exclusive to druid, like mechathun druid climbs high legend every season in wild (admittedly I only play wild probs shoulda said that in the beginning ) so I'm a bit out of touch with standard meta, but in wild druid is incredibly strong with or without brann, maybe he's too strong In standard but then he just needs to rotate, cause in wild he's good but not Oppressive, he's one of few tools that help control overcome aggro/mid range, and helps combo decks with a more reliable finisher, but even then it's mostly just druid who gets to take advantage of brann, in wild I think he's fine, but ya in standard I can see why he might be a bit too strong

@MB Which is exactly why brann is the problem, he allows powercrept battlecries et ridiculous effects to be even more ridiculous cause happening twice. Just think of the exemples you have here, with daddy-d astalor or anub, all 3 of them have very strong effect on their own but brann make it so that it's not just very strong it's so much dmg it's basicaly infinite and all on the same turn. a card like anub doesnt even do much without brann it's just a free 7-7 so how can you say brann isn't the center of the problem

It doesn't matter, Guff is always the root of the problem. To make him viable at 8 mana you need to have at least one innervate in your hand + brann + the otk pieces, which isn't that easy. With Guff it's a braindead combo.

His manathirst gets doubled by brann, even though the developers said brain woulde double that part. So the card still does something they told us they didn't want him to do.

You are correct, but not using those cards - Anub -> Brann + Astalor -> Anub -> rest of the combo; turn 8. Branned Astalor gives 10 armor which is enough for the second Anub that will in turn give 16 armor - then just double Astalor or Astalor + Sire since he had some extra armor.
