It really was. Just incredible to think they set off with some logs and a bamboo hut for 100 days!! Kind of strange seeing the place they landed. Makes it more real somehow.

@@RedSeas no, I did not…That’s a story you need to tell us more about. I worked in Saudi and mid day was 55degrees in the desert. So I can not imagine what Oman was like with fair skin. Red heads lack the sun blocking pigment and I know burn quicker under the sun. How did you cope?

Kon tiki is a great adventure. Some folks may think you are crazy in your travels, but those 6 that went out in the 40’s to drift across an ocean on a theory was truly on the edge of crazy. It sure is beautiful there! Donate for a Dream
