In Vermont POVs of FFs, EMTs, and first responders are allowed to have red lights, sirens, and even alternating headlights. Even with these, many people do not yield. I don't wish it upon them and move over and slow down, but I have no sympathy because of the bullshit tickets only for money and cause miles of traffic jam when everyone's flying making good time. Things like Oregon passing 75 in the east but because they don't have the money to change the signs it's a bait and switch money grab for out of Towner's. The national speed limit is 75 but they use it to collect money. It's not about safety in wide open county with nothing but 150 miles of straight road in the desert. Break down it's not them who stop, it's the DOT trucks or your fellow citizens more often. Troopers just drive on. They aren't out there for our safety, that much is clear to me. And their boss was appointed by a politician unlike my Sheriff who's elected of the people by the people for the people that leave us alone. And the cherry on top is 3:45am no one on the road, pull up to broken stop light out, treat it as a stop, ticket anyway for "not yielding to a traffic control device" that wasn't working. It's bullshit and I have no sympathy at all for these thieves. "What are you asking the court to do" "fix the stop light" "that's a different branch of government you'll have to take that up with them". The whole system is corrupt money grab.

I understand that there is inattention, but for this there is prevention, in some countries, mainly in Europe, police and service vehicles on roads and expressways are well signposted. They put one or two inflatable cones with strong lights, which look like those toys that don't tip over, away from the vehicle, if someone is distracted, they will collide with the cones being alerted well before hitting any vehicle and may swerve.
@stobe1563 Жыл бұрын
@@JP-uk9uc It was at this line, "the national speed limit is 75...," that I knew you have no clue what you are talking about, and that you use one experience, that I highly doubt even occurred, as an excuse to dislike all of law enforcement, and say the the whole system is corrupt. You think an individual who seems to like smaller government would know the United States hasn't had a national speed limit since 1995. The national speed limit was never 75 MPH either. It was first 55 MPH, then 65 MPH. "It's bullshit and I have no sympathy at all for these thieves," then don't drive. You can't receive a ticket for a traffic violation if you don't drive. At the end of the day, you agreed to follow the states laws when you got your drivers license. You also agreed to follow the traffic laws of other states when traveling through them. Law enforcement officers aren't thieves, it just seems you cannot drive with respect to the rules the state set in place. You can always walk.

So many drivers today rely on their computers to tell them when to move and such and now many don't physically move their head to check before merging, switching lanes, reversing etc. You don't know how many times I told people off for not looking when they switch lanes, reversing and such. They are endangering everyone on the road. Other drivers who actually pay attention shouldn't pay attention for you! I don't understand how the hell she got her license, and how she still has one! If I cannot get in I slow down and leave signal to left on to let them know I'm trying to get over .

I've seen signs in different states that say "Move over or (I repeat OR) slow down for emergency vehicles on shoulder". There are no studies to show what you are saying. Your alleged 28 years of experience as a truck driver means nothing. In reality it really just causes minor inconvenience, and takes at most a minute of extra time to clear a section of road. If a traffic stop is causing traffic to back up for miles, that was because there was already traffic there in the first place. At the end of the day, you small inconvenience is not worth the countless lives that have been saved over the years thanks to this laws and drivers becoming educated on it. Do you drive around railroad crossing gates because those inconvenience you too, or because it affects your own life you'll listen to those signals? Also, more lanes do not alleviate congestion. We know this through countless studies. It simply adds more capacity to the roadway that will be filled up with the same amount of traffic because more people will now be using that roadway.

you’re a freaking idiot obviously you have absolutely no drivers experience and if you do, it’s probably on a moped or otherwise known as a DUI vehicle. When I first started reading your statement. I had a question in my mind about what kind of driver you are now I know you’re just an imbecile.

Congested freeway everybody traveling at different speeds, changing lanes creates more congestion another hazard... cops don't follow the rules of the road... not using a emergency triangles or road flares!
@Sara-L5 жыл бұрын
It's not required by law to place road flares during traffic stops...But it is the law to slow down and pull over.

Don’t pull people over 2 feet from a 70mph lane???? this is so stupid

How hard would it be to toss a couple of cones out? Utility companies do it, safety first and all that.

Thats funny cause they teach you that in drivers ed and everyone has taken drivers ed

A drivers license is given to everyone now a days just so you can get some alcohol. Only reason you can’t drive is for medical reasons. Basically if you’re 18, you got your license. Law isn’t going to stop people from being stupid. People NEED to be educated when going to drivers school for longer period, and it has got to be more strict. I love my job as a tow truck driver, I hate the people that drive around on the daily. I have tows I do every day where NO ONE moves over like they’re supposed to, just slightly over the line. If I fell over, I’m literally dead if there’s a car there. No one thinks!!!

We have that law in New York and the prosecutors will not even plea bargain those tickets down. Plead guilty or go to trial, and its 3 points.

Strangely, the most likely to yield are Vermont State troopers. VSP has some of the most courteous drivers there are

I'm glad they're enforcing this if you can't get over you have to slow down it's just idiots on the road everyone knows about this law. It's a $1,000 fine here in Virginia and I would gladly issue the tickets.

in England people who have moved over for the Emergency services have been prosecuted and had their licences taken away for traffic violations committed whilst moving over, if you move through a red light or move over a solid white line or commit any traffic offences while giving way to the police in the UK they will always prosecute you to the full extent of the law, about 5 years ago our courts even issued a driving ban to an ambulance driver for going through a red light whilst driving to an emergency with his blue lights and sirens going, this is how petty and ridiculous our laws and court system is, this is why i will never ever move out of the way for an emergency vehicle, i will obey the rules of the road even if it means driving at 10 mph for the next 100 miles with a police convoy tailgating me.

Idiots need to spend a day or two in jail and then retake all aspects of the driving test.

Most people don't know that they have to move over ,I do but I didn't know about you have to stop for busses when they have that sign out ,I've always wondered why the bus drivers freaked out at me .I thought it was for people coming head on with the bus not for the people behind soo I would pass them everytime
