Just binged the 1 dupe challenge in 3 day and had to chuckle when Jean became a researcher. They hopped through the Temporal Tear and went from one universe with a super-powered duplicant and an easy life to a universe of 100 basic dupes where everyone is struggling to survive.

If you want the dupes to be able to breathe, you're going you have to play at 1 speed so the game can keep up.

@@Nathans-Sandbox Your mileage may vary, but as your base grows and the path finding options grow, the simulation struggles to let the air move around if you play at the higher speeds. Just be aware that slowing the game speed will help with that problem.

lol this 100 dupe challenge is such a stark difference from JD Plays's 102 Dupe dupe challenge. The chaos is still about equal though, so that's a plus

@@Nathans-Sandbox JD's attempt is joyfully chaotic. It's Called TombTown if you decide to watch it. He's basically the opposite of you in many ways, where your builds are often very clean and thought out, his are a chaotic mess that often only just barely holds together. Its also quite hilarious how hard it is for him to keep his dupes out of trouble, hopefullly you can stop them from killing themselves a bit better :P

Nathan is the only guy i will comment and like videos for. Also for the food catching problem, set up a single room with only a food storage container and a door. Fill with some muckroot and then turn off permission for the door to everyone. Anytime someome is starving they are allowed to enter the emergency ration room

I'm not sure I will beat the challenge in this attempt, failed it a couple of times but I fixed those errors in this playthrough. Still, I made some mistakes in this attempt that might get me failing eventually.

If you don’t care about food poisoning, then you should probably disable disinfecting, because right now a lot of dupes waste time disinfecting. Also, if you set up more schedules to spread out the dupes even more you might be able to get away with a few less toilets.

When using proximity jobs further away from the base have a hard time getting done. That’s because new tasks are continually popping up. New tasks is just life in a base but it certainly gets in the way. I wish they actually did jobs oldest to newest. The only solution is to give each dupe 1 high priority task. At least this way dupes ignore the majority of tasks and actually get to doing the old tasks. The only exception I use is on my digging/building dupes. When set to the same priority level they can dig out a tile and immediately build. No running around and swapping dupes.
