Your channel is so helpful..I'm a black South Africa and I have been obsessed with the Indian culture for a very long time..I've watch a lot of Bollywood but in own country we have English voice overs but I've always wanted to watch the soapies with the original sound..hoping that soon I won't need subtitles or voice overs

Thank you 🙏 Happy to know you so much interested in learning about Indian culture. Keep watching different videos on this channel and try to practice along. The more you listen to Hindi the faster you should be able to grasp it. All the best!

Thank you so much for this huge help for us hindi learners :) I have a small request, if possible: could we please get a small explanation as to why we use certain particles or word choice in the sentences, like, for example, why it is Shaam KO milte hain, while we have right after it Raat MEIN milte hain?
@WatchAndLearnHindi2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome and thanks for the suggestion. I wil try to incorporate that in future videos. Meanwhile you can check out this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIHbl4WHo5domNU It has word to word translation and some explanation along with it. Another video worth checking is kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4jNmKiteNx_p9E It tells you how to figure out when to your main or mujhe for "I" in Hindi. Hope these help!

Enjoying these lessons thoroughly. Can you please explain to me why we say mujhe bhookh lager hai for I’m hungry? Why not Main bhookh lagee hoon, since main hoon means I am?

The gender specificity applies for the person adressing Or the one who is being adressed? Eg) aap ache lag rahee hoon.. Is used when I'm a female or when the person I'm talking to is a female?
@WatchAndLearnHindi2 жыл бұрын
It depends. For aap achchee lag rahee hain - the person being addressed is female. Here both achchee and rahee tell us that the gender is feminine and it is for the person being addressed. The speaker can be either gender. Also the sentence cannot end with hoon (हूँ) because hoon is used only for 1st person and that also when main (मैं) is used for I. So with hoon you can say main achchee lag rahee hoon. Here because the sentence is in 1st person the gender of the speaker (that is mine) is defined with achchee and rahee. Hope this helps.

A mi modo de ver, este idioma no es tan dificil, de hecho es mas facil que Frances. Escribir Hindi es otra cosa.

Yes. Writing in Hindi can be a challenge since the script is completely different from the one used for English or Spanish. But if you learn to recognize the letters (without actually learning to write) it becomes easier to learn since in Hindi we read almost exactly as we write unlike English where for example a letter can be silent but still part of the word!
