Review of my Massey Ferguson 2606h and what I like about it. Giving the reasons I traded my Kubota and went with a Massey.

Just learned about the adjustability of the seat and loader joystick from your video. Thank you!

Great video with honest review & comments. Yes, the oil fill looks like a challenge. One of those longer, flexible galvanized steel funnels would help in that tight space. The Massey 2600H series is a tractor for me to consider. Reminds me of the older ones that my dad & I used on the farm growing up.

Thank you! I looked into a Kubota for a while and when I first seen the Massey 2600 and started looking into it it reminded me of being with my paw riding on his old Massey.

Have you put hydraulic fluid in the tractor yet? And where is the fill location and the dip stick, to check the fluid level? I have a hunch but would like to verify. Also, is there any hard to see grease loxations that you have found? Also , do you know the socket size to the fill cap , for hydraulic fluid , that is in the floor board ( if that is whatbi think it is) Also can you tell me about the steering fluid brand and make up? Thanks for the video 👍

Thank you for commenting. I have not changed the hydraulic fluid yet. The yellow end dipstick for the hydraulic and transmission is next to the differential lock pedal on the right side. Manual says to change this every 750 hours. And yes the one with the rubber boot in the floor pan is for the fluid. I don’t have a socket to see how big the plug is for the fill cap. Biggest socket I have with me is 1 inch and it’s bigger than that. There are multiple grease locations, obviously down both sides of the loader( 22 total for the loader) . There are grease fittings underneath the brakes and clutch, for the top link on the 3 point and both bottom links for the 3 point for the up and down adjustability for both sides. Also behind the front wheels right about the axles. Many of these are easily over looked, when it’s time to grease them I would take my time and look for any moving part and more than likely it will have a place to be greased. And it has a hydrostatic steering system, manual says there is no exclusive reservoir and fluid for the steering system. This system is controlled by hydraulic power. Manual doesn’t include anything about maintaining power steering system. I hope this helped.

@@GreenMtnTractor thank you for your reply. I have just started using this model on a job and I am getting familiar. We bent a hydraulic cylinder, We were replacing culverts and cutting a dam on a live pond , that was about to blow out, so things got hairy. Anyhow, we got er done and save the pond but using the grapple, in a tough situation , lost the right cylinder. Got it repaired and lost fluid, so I'm trying to get more fluid and get her filled up, before things do go south. Lol. So thanks for your info. On grease fittings, you are so right. I own Year 2012 mf2635 that has been a warrior, and got my boss to go with this scaled down 2606h mf, that is a little beast as well aka little brother. 😅But I was out looking over my tractor, just now and found a fitting in the front axle, pivot. It's in the front under the radiator ( in the center of axle, where the three structural ribs are located) on the left side, looking from the front . It is hard to see. I'm not sure I've ever seenn it, maybe once but, is there. So that leaves 5 fittings in the front axle, if I'm correct. Anyhow, there's a bolt missing in the front of my pivot arm, I just found. So got to get that replaced. I don't know if the 2606h has this " grease fitting" but the offset pumpkin and everything looks the same, so you might check your unit. So thanks again 👍👍

@@SkyHawk975 I’m glad I could help! The grease fittings, some hidden in plain sight and some just hidden lol. I found a few that I’ve missed when I started counting them lol. Hopefully you can get everything back and running. They are fairly simple machines, I wish I had a few more tips on changing the hydraulic/ trans fluid, but any little bit I tried to help. Thank you for watching and commenting!
