100 Kickflips In The Emerica Romero Laced Shoes

We decided to give our staff a break this week and hand the 100 Kickflip Challenge over to a pro. Leo Romero paid a visit to the CCS office last week and we talked him in to giving us 100 kickflips in a brand new pair of his Romero Laced Shoes from Emerica. It turns out there’s a reason he’s got his name on a board. Leo did 100 kickflips in a row with out stopping or stepping off his board once. He didn’t want to break his momentum until he hit 100 and because of that, we had a microphone malfunction in the process. As you can clearly see, the shoes did great, but sadly we don’t have audio commentary on the end result. We speculated as to what was said though, and probably nailed it. Quality wise? They're better than the Janoski. If you asked that question 6 years ago, I'd say the Janoski. Emerica greatly stepped up the quality of this shoe over the years and Nike SB tanked in the quality of the Janoski around 2012.

skated mine for like 3 months, the kickflip mark is almost touching the floor. the soles also wore all the way through on my front foot, but the board feel is amazing! currently skating the hsu's and they seem to hold up way better

+Skankwave not even, they're both cupsoles. the leo has 4 lace holes and the figgy one has 3. that's really about it.

+Skankwave biggest differences are the liner and padding. laced is as basic as it gets in terms of padding and protection and fit. the figgy has an internal bootie so it holds better, it has more padding around the ankle to soften it up, and the impact padding is a little thicker. basically its for dudes that like the thin aesthetic of the laced but want to beef it up a little more. personally i like the laced more overall since i don't pull morning to dusk skate missions regularly but on the days i do, id rather wear figgys just cause i won't hurt the next morning.

Laces are set low so rips easily and the bottom is thin so you'll get a hole on the bottom of the shoe quickly, unless you skate park more than street.

It is a real test and I swear I did more than 100 kickflips and this shoe took all of them without any damage. But! The heel support of laced isn't good as cover of shoe. My ankle need more support so I use now Reynolds shoe. They are super comfy and takes impact good as well . Choose Emerica guys!
