Hey Trent, I have been watching you for about a year and half on and off. I have experience in D2C and B2B phone sales. I was always curious why you prefer the B2B route? Deal size? I like the consumer side better because you can fly through deals much faster. I think you would be a assassin as a High Ticket Closer for example. Have a great day!

I would doubt whether you'd read this comment or not. Yet the only thing I noticed with your calls was that, your pitch is too long in the sense that your sentences are long and because of that anyone who's on the call would be bored and start ignoring + your pitch gets monotonous cuz it's the same professional blab they hear every single day. Just my two cents nothing else I love these videos.
@TrentDressel
@TrentDressel 3 ай бұрын
fair feedback, I think the pitch may be longer but it's not something they hear everyday. I don't think you have any idea what I'm selling, the buyers I'm calling, or an idea about the industry

You’re not lethal Trent! Are you kidding me? You could’ve landed that deal in more ways than one had you been face-to-face with him. You could’ve talked about his kids, where he went to college, hell, you could’ve bonded with him on so many different levels besides your telegraphed verbalized messages. It sounds so rehearsed and to him on the other end, it sounds so foreign. At my company? I would’ve hung up on you.

Yeah, I would hang up on you immediately. Your tone and pitch says "I want to sell you something" literally less than one second into the call. People call these exact same numbers with "great opportunities that can save them money" all day long. You need to stand out imo.

What makes you think business owners don't want to be sold to? That is a belief issue. I'll tell you this, the executives he is reaching out to are busy, they appreciate the direct approach. If the product resonates and they see a fit they will always welcome it.

@@zackvinci "What makes you think business owners don't want to be sold to?" The 95 people who saw 'spam likely' on their cell phone, and then proceeded not to answer it. The other 5% of people that actually picked up the phone probably have job applications out, and are answering all phone calls at the moment. Or else they wouldn't have answered either.

Just get out there and cold call. I sell specialty corrugated packaging for my family’s owned business much like your own and every time I go out, I get a deal. Trent, since it's your family business, why not give yourself a proper professional title that builds "status" in the minds of these execs when they answer. I'm not saying a title is everything but it certainly could add more professional status which never hurts.

@@TrentDressel Great idea. This will ultimately lead to more serious conversations because they will feel they're speaking to a somebody. And you are. A great book to read on the effects of "status-imbalance" in a sales interaction is "Pitch Anything" and they touch on this concept in the movie Boiler Room.Trust me... it goes a long way.
@Michael-GL
@Michael-GL 3 ай бұрын
That's a good point! However, I would just drop the word "sales" and keep VP. Having 'sales' in the title can build a mental spam barrier in some prospects' mind pushing you away because they know you are goign to sell them smth. If you just put VP or VP of Product, Product Director, etc.. this will build the same status and doesn't make you come off as salesy..
