Asian cuisine and Asian Chef's are the best in the world. These Chef's are very humble and very creative, they are definitely not on a power trip like the Western and European Chef's are. Bravo to this Master Chef who's preparing Mikey's meal.

I couldn't agree with you more. Western chefs are totally full of themselves, treat people terribly, and act like they know everything. You do SCULLERY WORK FOR A LIVING, GET OVER YOURSELF. The Food Network isn't calling any time soon, you're mad about it, and you want the world to know it, oooooo, big deal. I can't stand them.

@@tempesttube Yeah, I struggle hard with eating raw stuff, too. Wish it would come easy so I can enjoy things like in the video.
@tempesttube
@tempesttube Жыл бұрын
@@Arthrexx I enjoy a lot of different kinds of food, so I like to encourage people to try things. However, I know a lot of people who hate trying food that’s out of their comfort zone, so I usually suggest small steps that are likely to be positive. e.g., for sushi, even some of the cooked items are adventurous to a lot of people so I suggest starting with things like eel and smoked salmon. Separating the idea of eating something raw from the act of actually eating something raw can help too. Spicy tuna is popular among people who still don’t like the idea of eating raw fish, even though they are. In Mike’s case, I think that he was fortunate to have a very positive first experience, even though he tried a lot of things at once.

I envy Mikey as I would probably never manage to get a reservation at this place. A tell tell sign that this is indeed a high end restaurant is how they prepare the rice. No sugar added and using black vinegar. At most luxurious sushi joints, red vinegar is all the hype, but this place doesn’t even conform to that. Shows the confidence of their dishes to be the best.

I know it sounds silly, but I'm so glad he showed respect and wore a proper shirt instead of a T-shirt. I always feel a little embarrassed when he goes to fine dining in a T-shirt. It's a matter of respect for the establishment and sloppy dress just perpetuates the "Sloppy American" stereotype. Get a logo polo shirt at least. This was nice.

i’ve always wanted to know… and it’s none of my business… but i used to watch your videos from the beginning, especially the ramen tour you did in NY. i can tell when there’s so many people, you kinda just walk in the restaurant. in one’s like these, that are more intimate, do you call in and let them know who you are due to the intimacy, or do these restaurants usually just do intimate fine and dine? i know some restaurants actually do this so i was genuinely curious. what’s your take?
