Fun fact: Fusion reactors can’t explode because the only thing that could harm someone, the hot plasma, would get cooler as it expands. The temperature would go normal really fast and nobody would get hurt. Now, nuclear reactors that we have right now uses decaying radioactive materials that can indeed generate an explosion or could cause a meltdown if it didn’t work properly.

Because this is a fusion reactor, if anything goes wrong, all that will happen is the plasma in the reactor will cool and the reaction will stop. No meltdown. No explosion. Fusion reactors are actually really safe.
