It's impressive that datapacks have gotten to this point that this is functional, and runs decently too. Of course, there are still things that mods can do that datapacks can't, and there's probably the potential for performance improvement with custom mods vs datapacks, but still, very impressive.
@amynagtegaal69414 ай бұрын
Name 1 thing that mods can that datapacks can't... The only things i can think of are only the case because of the bad performance datapacks have... Also... I do count datapacks that need a server plugin for specific things also as datapacks.. since the datapack itself is still the thing doing the actual handling.. but things like a simple datapack compatible http client of course does need to be provided by a thing outside of datapacks...
@dacomputernerd40964 ай бұрын
@@amynagtegaal6941 For example, as far as I can tell, custom rendering of various visual effects is much more powerful with mods. I've never seen a datapack display something like thaumcraft's lightning effects and essentia flows, or even GregTech's glowing coil shader or Create's spinning gears. I don't think datapacks can use GLSL and do all that stuff. Also, from what I've seen, sometimes, that performance impact difference becomes quite severe due to large amounts of invisible armor stands being used by the data pack, so it's definitely worth mentioning I also believe datapacks can't create new world types. While new dimensions are possible, and new settings for them, everything I've seen indicates the chunk generator must be one of the default types (superflat, normal, nether, end, etc) There's a few for you

@dacomputernerd40963 ай бұрын
Honestly, my comment was going by datapack+resource pack with my limited knowledge of datapack's limitations and I still had three, and there's a bunch more in these replies as well. There's a lot mods can do that datapacks can't. And there probably always will be ngl

@wilanne4 ай бұрын
Hello, that demonstration was really good and absolutely insane. Despite that, the reactor is a fusion type reactor. Meaning that keeping the plasma confined and sustaining the reaction is extremely difficult. Then, if the plasma confinement with magnetic field is faulty the reaction should immediately stop because of how uneasy it is to even maintain. But the sci-fi added to the scenario was indeed fabulous!

but what about a refinment buckle where their is no safety messasers can be deployed because its welded to the casing so the chamber itself where the reaction taking place may be stable and uncontroable at the same time meaning its pressure is growing and we cant interven which is just as bad as if the casing was falling apart and leaking

Honestly despite my brain screaming to me that "fusion reactors don't really explode like this..." this is really, really well done. holy shit it's awesome. Perhaps it can be a little more believable to us nerds with no life if... *you're containing a black hole* There is this really cool concept out there often referred to as a "Quantum Singularity Reactor", that involves what we called "Unobtanium" Unobtanium refers to something that we can explain, even explain how to obtain it, but with material or physics limitations we are unable to manufacture it, in this case, a black hole. Quantum singularity reactors can operate on a lot of things, either mass that is thrown towards the black hole that accelerates (taking the black hole's rotational energy and converting it into the mass's kinetic energy that can be harvested), or photons that get "sped up" as it approaches the event horizon, but is still far enough to escape the event horizon. (By the way, here i'm talking about a tiny black hole) Since lightspeed is constant, the photons gain energy, so you get higher energy photons coming out of the black hole than going in, of course, taking the black hole's rotational energy in return. However a suitable black hole for this purpose has rotational energy so great it is more than capable of sucking up entire stars, so the amount that we harvest is negligible. This light is then, some harvested, some, through an isohedral mirror, bounced back near the black hole to gain more energy. If you do decide to make a cool quantum singularity reactors, the hazards are: - If the mirrors bounce too much light around, ideally if the mirrors perfectly reflect the light, you can have so much energy built-up inside the reactor it can produce an explosion on the magnitude of a supernovae - Some mirrors may crack or melt, releasing beams of deadly radiation (that's extremely bright laserlight!!!) right out, and is probably just a huge, triangular, diverging lightsaber that cuts straight through whatever that's in its way. - Proper containment of the black hole may fail (i don't even know how are we gonna contain one, and I haven't found a source that tells me how yet haha. Perhaps this can be up to your artistic interpretation. - The black hole literally pulling you into it - Deadly Bremsstrahlung radiation coming off the mirrors as electrons inside the mirrors are energized by the gamma spectrum rays that are coming from the inside of the reactor, but Id imagine there would be some shielding to prevent you from dying instantaneously. So yeah it's pretty cool! :3
