It is entertainment purposes. One $100 challenge came out to only $3, it doesn't take a genius in the Sonny & Crew that some challenges are impossible if you are being truthful to the location and basic rules of the challenge. Sometimes Sonny intentionally finds out the total money spent thus far and go out of his way to go buy enough food from a vendor that was kind, friendly, and helpful to intentionally break the $100 barrier. Like the time he bought half of all the Roast Pork that a vendor whom refused to charge him for a outrageously large sample of enough pieces of to feed Sonny and his entire team. He gave that pork to a group of drivers that operates those foot driven taxis. Or the time in Italy when Sonny intentionally broke the barrier by going back to a deli guy named Maximo to buy lots of cheese because the Maximo sold cheese and deli meats, but had no bread, but Maximo went to his neighboring vendor to get bread to make two different sandwiches and did not charge Sonny a nickel.

Jurel is a horse mackerel, more closely related to a Jack or Pompano than true mackerel. They are called "mackerel" because of a similar shape. The meat is less oily, less fishy, and more firm than true mackerel, while still oilier and fishier than most fish in the supermarket. A very underrated fish in my opinion. Excellent grilled, smoked, or even deep fried. Not sure I would want to eat one from a street vendor. Being that they are oily they do tend to get fishy in a not nice way if not fresh and kept on ice. Fresh they are absolutely excellent.
@tonyduncan9852 Жыл бұрын

@PinguinoLetal20 күн бұрын
In Perú, Jurel used to be considered a 'poors man' fish so Its still one of the cheapest ( I guess thats why they sell It like that on the video ). Its more muscular and has black parts on It that are a bit bitter. I personally prefer It a thousand times when comparing it to a White meat soft ( more expensive) fish. I am very into textures and variety so those bitter small accents and 'meaty' muscles are amazing ( 'meaty' sounds redundant but if you know what I mean, you know not all fishes have that quality).

In a nice restaurant in Lima, I had ceveche and scallop incrusted in Parmigian cheese on the half shell, a water and soda for $11. You can get the best grill 1/2 a chicken, potato fries and some mix veggies and drink for about $5. Llama is okay. Cuy I'm not high on. The beef was excellent. I'm so glad you're in Lima. Go to Callahuanca or Tingo Maria! I want to see you eat an Armadillo on the half shell! My gf wouldn't let me try it, said I'd get leprosy

From a Peruvian: the cocha yuyo plate, the firts green bite is nabo (the Peruvian radishe's green leaf). The second one is algae from lakes un the andes. Cocha means any significant body of water. And that style of food with four stews is called a merienda

That "wheat corn" you were talking about looks a lot like huitlacoche (wheat la co che). It's very popular in Mexico. It's basically a fungus that feeds off of corn and is poisonous if it isn't cooked. Many say it tastes like truffles.

12:38 I’m not sure if I would be able to stomach the corn stuff in my current state of bleeding because it looks UNCANNILY similar to a blood clot 😭 out of all the things I’ve seen a dish made of corn is the one thing I don’t think I could stomach. Cheers, WBFRS!
