Fun fact: Beans in Oaxaca are super special because they are almost always organic or use natural bean seeds (non transgenic) and are seasoned with dry avocado leaf that when you try it will change your world
@memowilliam98892 жыл бұрын
The avocado leaf contains trace amounts of an anti-fungal compound. It is toxic to animals but not humans. A small number of humans have unpleasant reactions to it, such as, nausea and diarrhea. I am one of those. I spend several months at a time in small villages in the mountains of Oaxaca. My last trip I developed a reaction to it. It took a long time to discover that it was the compound making me sick and not a food-born illness. Scientist believe that compound may be useful in the treatment of some cancers.

Corn in Mexico is not a small thing. The corn plant was domesticated in central Mexico 9k years ago from Teocinte, an inedible weed. It was the gift of indigenous Mexicans to the world, corn was their creation but also their god, it was the food of great civilizations such as Aztecs, Olmecs or Mayans.

Thank you so much for showing everyone different types of cultures! And religions! Fact: in Mexico they love to REALLY stuff up your food. They want to make sure you leave not with an empty stomach they want you to be really full! fact 2: In Mexico they sell their foods cheap because they love to give people food and satisfy their needs or cravings. Unlike other states or countries they have it more expensive. Also because not a lot of people buy from good carts they usually make everything at home because Mexicans don’t really like to buy stuff from anywhere.

Fun fact. The gringa was born in Mexico City, and indeed it’s called that because there were a couple of American girls that use to go to this taqueria and order flour tortilla, cheese and al pastor (the original is with Al pastor) and the taquero just made it for them every time, then people started ordering what the “gringas” had. The Tlayuda (the giant tortilla) the first thing they put Tun is not sauce, it’s lard.

Mexican cheese is FAWWGEEN DISGUSTING. Tastes and smells like ROTTEN FEET. Mexicans make the cheese from unpasteurized milk and leave it out for a few days so the larva can give it extra taste. It’s left out partially in a blanket intentionally so flies can land on it and live in it. You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about. Absolutely no idea.🤦🏻♂️ I should know Mexican food.. and quite well too... why? Because I’m of Mexican descent. It’s my ethnicity. My parents are from Jalisco Mexico. Here legally and have been naturalized citizens for a long time. But me? I’m natural born American. I’m born and raised in California. Ive been to Mexico numerous times to visit family in Jalisco and Zacatecas. I KNOW MEXICAN FOOD. And I strongly recommend staying far away from Mexican made cheese. FAR away. Unless you have a stomach made of metal and don’t get the runs easily. 🤷🏻♂️

Dear friend, what you call cactus, we Mexicans name it nopal, it goes well with almost every meat there is. Man, the tlayudas are a true Oaxacan delight! Welcome to Mexico every time you visit, and enjoy its immense variety of delicious food!!

You know the snacks are out of this world when Sonny does that happy dance 🤣 BTW as a Mexicana myself, Oaxaca is the most indigenous state in Mexico, to me!

Sonny. Watching you getting schooled by the pie man, was a great way to start the year. Happy New year! wish you all the best for 2022. Thanks for keeping me entertained the last couple of years it's been enlightening and funny as hell. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧 👍

I agree with you. Isn't it funny how Sonny never replies or likes comments 🤔. Js
@michaelhurley4572 жыл бұрын
@@benhobson5635 it is a bit strange, as there's a few KZbinrs that I watch and occasionally comment on. That are more interactive with their audience, which is nice but each to his own. Sonny's videos show me sides to different people and cultures, that I would probably never get to experience. He does it in an amusing way that keeps me entertained, that's the main thing.

@@michaelhurley457 yeah totally agree with you, I'm just saying it would be nice from time to time for him to comment back that's all 🙃
@michaelhurley4572 жыл бұрын
@@benhobson5635 yeah I agree. The only time I've seen either him or his team member message back was when someone had put a negative comment about reimbursing a guy for his cow. Which they obviously had off camera and argued their case. It wouldn't hurt for them to put a like on some of the comments once in a while but it probably saves getting drawn into any silly unnecessary arguments.
