Some people just not like her way of teaching.... I want have informations about how to talk, from someone who explain it easy - and in chinese. and not want a kiddie jumping around, telling stories in english, throwing some chinese words in and even not having similar characters to her pinyin.... I for example learn with mandarincorner, easier, 90% in chinese, with 100 movies about chinese grades real world conversations. So everyone has it‘s favourite way of learning. But for me this video from her is really annoying.

What many Chinese lessons are missing, including this one, is the individual meanings of each word, and the rising-falling pronunciation of the pinyin. When you are taught individual words, and how to put them together, you can create your own Chinese sentences, and then you really know the language. The phrases in this lesson are not taught word-by-word, they are only spoken for you to memorize. The girl is cute, but she is doing somewhat of a disservice as a teacher.

Can anyone tell me the difference between Chinese Trad., and Simple. Google translate still offers plenty of mistakes from my referring to Traditional. I'm so grateful to Yuting. A helpful and lively teacher.
@leonardoartistof16thcentur806 жыл бұрын
What you read here in this lesson are simplified characters, that is the official writing style language in e.g. Beijing, lets say northern China. This was introduced somewhere in the 50's by government i believe in order to upgrade the literacy level. However the traditional writing style you still find in Southern China and especially everywhere in Taiwan. Personally i learned to read simplified characters which took great effort and i feel lost when i try to read the traditional characters which are more complicated in number of strokes. However most chinese folk seem to have little problem switching between the two. In lots of southern chinese movies and youtube lessons you still find those traditional characters especially those youtube lessons provided by taiwanese people who are often very fluent in english. In Taiwan i never saw simplified characters in daily city life and in Beijing / northern china did not encounter traditional characters in daily city life. If you want a nice cultural holiday i advise to go to Taipei.
@jasonwatkins76736 жыл бұрын
after the civil war mainland China destroyed their culture, burned books and to promote socialism destroyed education. When no one could read anymore they came up with stripped down version or chinese by removing key parts of characters. This is called simplified. (Like removing heart from the family) Taiwanese had left communist mainland so they were still educated. They kept traditional Chinese. so they can read simplified and traditional. however mainland chinese who were only allowed to learn simplified can not read traditional because the characters are more complex.
@fanlin97116 жыл бұрын
@@jasonwatkins7673 Growing up in China learning every Chinese character in simplified, I can still read 95% of Traditional without spending time to learn it. I believe same applies to most of the other Chinese folks. :)
