I owned the KZ750 in the early 80 and rode a 78 KZ 750 twin for 5 years and enjoyed every minute of it. That engine is really solid and super simple to maintain and service. I would buy that bike in a minute and upgrade the points to electronic ignition. The bike is a great all around bike and I often rode mine in some trails and dirt roads off the pavement with a slow and careful approach and the engine just pulled like a tractor up any hill I could find. This is a really great motorcycle and has a great travel range compared to its four cylinder brothers. I would buy this bike in a second.

Yeah, I am a little bit sad that I didn’t have time to go through it and enjoy it, but life moves fast. Thanks for sharing your memories, sounds like you really enjoyed your time with your bike.

Enjoy the videos sir! I just inherited my Grandpa’s 78 KZ750 after his passing a couple months ago. She needs a lot of love for sure. I’ve worked on cars and trucks most of my life but haven’t tinkered much with bikes. Diving head first into it though and doing lots of research from videos like this. Thanks again for the videos keep em coming!

Josh Fizer this should be a good motorcycle to learn on. Lots of fairly reasonably priced parts available and pretty easy to work on. I was just looking at mine, still need to get the paperwork taken care of and then take it out somewhere. Thanks for watching.

That was my first bike when I was 18 (41 years ago). Best bike I owned and I regret selling it for a bigger one. Finally I got my hands on a 750 LTD twin and will make it a nice chopper during next winter. I hope you still have it, as the video is 4 years old aready...

Thanks for sharing your story. I had so many bikes around here, I ended up selling this one. Kind of wish I’d kept it…was an interesting machine.

azdesertdog it’s running pretty good, I have a busy month coming up but will try to get the paperwork taken care of. That’s all that is holding me back on it.

I really like this idea - most - including myself - will not be able to do it as easily as you - but i will give it a go at some point :)

Lasse's Food and Barbecue I got lucky on some stuff but an older bike has cheap used parts out there. Not worrying about cosmetic stuff saves money as well. I enjoy seeing how little a person can spend yet still enjoy riding. I would love to see you find and fix up a budget machine!

Do you still have this bike? Did you take the camping trip? How about a chain guard on the back? Thanks for posting! Liked and subbed.

I had the bike until recently. I was amassing too much stuff and it was giving me anxiety. I didn’t get a chance to do anything with it so I passed the bike on to someone else in the hopes that they could. Sorry to disappoint! Thanks for watching, always something new coming up.

Very cool to see you get this cycle going again. My best friend in high school had a KZ750, this brings back memories. It looks like you are San Diego county, is that correct? I might be interested in buying the KZ when you are done with your camping trip.

Jon Walwick they feel like 42 year old brakes. 😂. Actually not too bad after bleeding them but new pads would be a good idea.
