Wow. To have a 1wt option that is 100% reliable is amazing by itself, but this loader has so many great features on top of that. Reading the hopper instead of the box is so smart. Being able to use it as a mixed loader and not having to manually break the box if a stray item gets in is so helpful. If your storage gets full you have easy access to the boxes in the cobweb before they despawn so no more tearing apart the whole loader, plus it loads the empty boxes automatically?! Sign me up. It's such a huge improvement over the old design its kind of hard to believe. Safe to say I will be using this a lot in my world.

You’re testing with equal items that all fill up at the same time. So when that comparator puts out a strength of 6 (2 non-stackable items) it will propagate to 2 neighbours to each side. All these modules brake their shulkers regardless of the filling state… So the reliability is only about shulkers staying in the correct module. I’d suggest using a beehive, chiseled bookshelf or composter to get a second input of 5 into the same block similar to the old variation with the redstone block. Or extend the back to a length of 6 redstone dust.

You are totally right! I don't know how I overlooked that little detail. Thanks for the suggestion, it's a good idea. It also should be fixed by just extending the redstone line from 4 to 6 pieces of dust. It would just add 1 extra column of blocks to the footprint of the contraption.

Thanks so much for your kind and inspiring words!! I try to explain as much as I can so that people are able to understand exactly what they are building and maybe make their own modifications if needed. It's good to hear that you enjoy it because sometimes I wonder if I should keep explaining everything or if it'd be better to just show the things working and how to build them. Those who are not interested in the technical stuff can always skip it, after all.

@@GiorgioJGZ I definitely love the explanations. It helps me understand the mechanics so that I can make those modifications or use similar principles in other builds.

Awesome design. I'm definitely going to start using this design in my worlds. I also messed around with it, and found that using beds instead of slabs gets it back up to the 99.98% reliability of the powdered snow. (Used the same testing setup you did and had 3 incorrect boxes). So another good option for people who don't want to go caving for cobwebs and don't want to farm tons of powdered snow :)

Cool! Thanks for the alternative, it's always good to have several options. Plus, with beds you can cover 2 modules with a single bed (if you tile them together).

Hello! This video was recently shared in the Storage Tech Discord, and although it is a bit old, you may still be interested in some input: (1) Cobwebs and powder snow are not particularly easy blocks to obtain in large amounts. If you happen to have a lot of them it's fine, but that's often not the case. Reliable (in this case a specific type of reliability called "slice-preserving") designs nowadays use a mechanic called "precision hopper", where you unlock a hopper directly below the box on the same game tick you break the box. It's a mechanic that uses more redstone components and is, therefore, easier to build in large quantities. (2) The sticky piston being short-pulsed and spitting the observer is an undesirable design choice we call a "togglestate". Having it brings along a bunch of issues, including: (A) Building incorrectly and going unnoticed, causing the loader to not function, or (B) in case of an accidental unload or server crash, being left in the wrong position, causing the loader not to function. (3) Having a conductive block above the dispenser is not tileable due to QC. It may be the case that during some interval between adjacent slices replacing their boxes, one of them fails to do so. Feel free to join us over at the Storage Tech Discord server, if you need anything from inspiration from existing designs to good feedback from experienced players: discord.gg/JufJ6uf

Thanks for the input!! I am always looking to get better. And funny enough, I knew all of these things (Just wasn't careful enough when designing it). But I will definitely be joining the discord to keep learning!

Oh man you are seriously underrated, you've definitely earned a new subscriber. I for one really appreciate how you actually explain the redstone mechanics. I found that if you take the hopper comparator output through an extra block and use a half slab or glass when the dust rises you can get it to only require a signal strength of 2. Which cuts down on the amount of items that have to be kept in the hoppers.
@GiorgioJGZ
@GiorgioJGZ Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub! Really appreciate it. I did it with a signal strength of 4 only because of non-stackables, but if you are not going to be loading any non-stackables, your way is a good one to make it a bit cheaper and compact. Nice!

Thanks for the video! This loader was a life saver. With the older design that was prevalent, not only was I seeing the shulker box item trajectory issue (loss of boxes or picked up by wrong hopper), but I think I was also seeing some QC shenanigans with the box breakers? They would get stuck in the extended position and not deploy a new empty box, hoppers would get backed up (which I'm sure led to gold getting burnt) and was seeing all sorts of partially filled boxes in the output. So far this new design has been perfect!

Thank you! Was searching for a reliable shulkerbox loader like this. Cause yea, I build a whole storage with the "usual" 1-wide loader and was a bit angry ( i tore it down with TNT) at that flawed design.

Hey, mate! I was wondering whether or not this design is still good to go with considering some of the comments? Besides, does it work in 1.21 or you didn’t test it out on a newer version? Thank you
@GiorgioJGZ
@GiorgioJGZ 4 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for asking. The answer is no. Some people noticed some inconsistencies with the design. Realistically, you can use it without troubles for a long time, but some improvements can be made. New version (final version, truly reliable) should come out soon, though. As for your second question, I haven't tested it in 1.21, sorry.

I built it on a server, and I would like to know if it can keep up with my 12k iron farm?
@GiorgioJGZ
@GiorgioJGZ 11 ай бұрын
That's around 3 or 4 iron per second, right? So, it would be almost right on the limit of its capacity, and maybe getting some backlog from time to time. If you want to be sure it keeps up finely, build 2 or 3 modules just in case.

Sorry. It can't. It might've worked in Bedrock if it wasn't because of the part of the sticky piston. Maybe with some little tweaks there, you can get it to work.
