You had me at "William Penn, their god" Im sure thats presented as grim dark but out of context (And living in PA myself) That's hilarious As if reading Dhalgren didn't already bash the idea of society collapse into my head, diving into this will be something. Will report back with what I think!

It's a strange little story, for sure. I don't think the idea of Penn as a deity has anything to do with the actual Penn, but the way the Liberty Bell is used is also interesting!
