Awesome job Sam! Love that table and loved the switcheroooo for the foot shot! Love that pattern and sturdy way you have done this table. I can't wait to see your new toy! It is going to be one handy tool for the crafts that you do so very well. I like that it could also be used for a nice cutting table and storage for sewing projects. adjusting the height perhaps to lessen bending over but thinking it could be an awesome addition for many crafters and their storage needs. Awesome build, and again, I can't wait to see what you do with it. Kudos, job well done! Blessings

I am looking forward to seeing the new CNC on the table - one note though, there is a lot of white in the shop there and some of the shots are overexposed - I think using manual white balance might help with that - I'm not an expert, I am just learning this stuff as well and I have the same issue with some of my shots.
@Samcraftcom
@Samcraftcom 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I had to step up the exposure in a few shot to keep the details. Lots of contrast in some areas. But I think it'll work out in the end with the machine in the corner to give the camera something to latch onto for auto exposure. :)

Nice design, I would use 2 x 4 boards for the legs and top frame. 2 - 2 x 4s would give very stable legs would be less work than cutting all the plywood.
@genesishep
@genesishep Жыл бұрын
I think you missed the point of his build. Built with only 2 sheets of plywood, no additional lumber costs, no 2x4 lumber to run through planers or higher priced S4S costs since good quality furniture grade ply is flat (as his level shows). I was thinking 1 sheet of furniture grade ply and 1 sheet of Mdf for the top to ensure a flat surface but he made the right choice since the left over ply is stronger than MDF and he used some of the 2nd sheet to stiffen up the frame. I wouldn't trust MDF shot strength applications. Thick ply can be just as strong as standard lumber if used right, sometimes stronger. Personally I would have laminated the strips leaving gaps to create simulated mortise & tenon legs and frame but that may have required a 3rd sheet to cut. Paul Sellers recreates his entire workbench using plywood as mortise & tenons. He has a seven-part video series on his KZbin channel. His workbench is designed more for traditional woodworking using hand tools rather than power tools so it's built with strength in mind. My point is his plywood workbench is just as sturdy as his lumber workbench it's based on, possibly stronger due to the laminate of the ply.

That table should support quite a lot, for you And it's Mobile. Great. Looks like your table saw cast iron could use some love. A little WD40 and an orbital sander, with 220, will save some elbow grease but it will still be needed for the paste wax.

Nice job, Sam. Looks great. I would have reserved the space you used for the "switch panel" for a set of drawers and put the "switch panel" on the end of the table. You could always make the drawers as narrow as necessary to leave space behind the panel for wiring and such. Just another idea to add to the pile.
@Samcraftcom
@Samcraftcom 3 жыл бұрын
I have plans to put drawers above the shelf on the left, but your idea for drawers on the right is great too! I've not changed the table (yet) but may have to consider the above when I do! :)
@awlthatwoodcrafts8911
@awlthatwoodcrafts8911 3 жыл бұрын
@@Samcraftcom, I see the end next to the "dresser" as wasted space. However, there's enough sticking out to accommodate your "switch panel", leaving the space that faces the room (where your switch panel is now) for whatever you can dream up. If you've watched Jay Bates' CNC videos, you're likely going to want to build something for a computer. Maybe you can incorporate that into the table somewhere, eliminating another cart taking up valuable floor space.
