Thank you for adding single fathers! They aren’t really shown much but I noticed in recent American advertising they’ve been showing single fathers cooking with their children and being an amazing parent. Sometimes the media shows fathers as careless and deadbeats. I was raised by my dad only and he was criticized by many people and even had to change my diapers on a sink because changing tables in men’s bathrooms weren’t common. Thank you for all you do single parents!

Same, I was raised by my single black daddy alone who did better than most other American fathers, wish this kind of thing was spoken of more bc it being shown makes such a difference in our young community and is one the hardest jobs deserving all of the recognition! Love him endlessly. ❤️

I think that’s crazy that there aren’t always changing tables in men’s bathrooms. Single fathers arent the only ones who need them, gay parents, dads who just happen to take the baby out without the mom for the day, male nanny’s, like c’mon people it’s not hard to put a damn changing table in men’s restrooms...

lolo relatable! There’s one photo of me as a baby that my nana has. ONE. Nobody else in my family has any baby photos of me and I’m still looked over by most of my family in a lot of situations
@Caroline-yo2zo5 жыл бұрын
My poor sister. She’s the youngest of 5. Literally, the doctor forgot about her! Because I was born via c-section because I was a “butt-head” in the womb (I was upside down) my 2 little sisters had to also be born via c-section to prevent it from reopening plus my mom was on the older side (she was 40, almost to the day, when she was born). Anyway, she was scheduled for the c-section well in advance. My parents got there. My mom was on the table and the anesthesiologist was numbing her up when a nurse was wondering where the doctor was. The nurse called the doctor’s cell. He apparently yelled into the phone to where my parents could hear “Oh, shit! DO NOT GIVE HER ANESTHETICS YET!” Well... they did. He apparently came flying through the door 20 minutes later; he was at home. The doctor told my mom “If you feel any pain, tell me!” She was fine through all the cutting and pulling my sister out. However, when they stitched her back up she could feel it at the end but was too embarrassed to say anything because she felt bad for him. No one knew what time my sister was born at so they just said “Uhh... 8:30 sound okay?” It’s so funny. My sister was also 1 of 100’s of babies he’d delivered and he said she was the most eventful. And then the next day they went to Costco for groceries! 😂

I became a mom at 18.5 years old. He was supposed to be born in August and he was born in June. I was 28.3 weeks along. He was this tiny, tiny thing and he was all arms, legs, and hair. I was unable to hold him immediately and only cared about if he was okay. I sent my sister to watch over him and make sure he was going to be okay. I was able to go to the NICU a few hours later and I looked at him, he was writhing in the isolette and I touched his tiny hand at which point he opened one eye and stared right at me. He had the blackest eyes surrounded with a grey ring and he was tiny and hairy and my first question was, “Why is he so hairy? Is he always going to look like a naked mole rat?” 😂😂 Even in that state, I thought he was the most beautiful and handsome little guy I’d ever seen. He’s now 18, 6’4”, and wears a size 14-15 shoe and full of spirit and sarcasm and he’s one of the best things I have to show for my years walking this life. 😊☺️

I had her sitting on my legs, that were bent up, at an incline. She was STARING at me. Her & i were just staring at each other, and i just started BAWLING tears of joy!!! My eyes are filling w/tears rn!!! I can not truly describe the feelings in that moment. I NEVER, through my whole life until that exact moment, wanted a child. I never thought "oh I can't wait to be a mom". I did not want kids. AT ALL!! Even thru my pregnancy. I was really scared that I would resent her, and not love her. So in that moment, of her and I staring into each other's eyes. I was SOOOOOO happy that I had her. This BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL baby, was mine! Omg, just absolutely beautiful!! And I was crazy enough to think that I could never feel that joy again but then my baby Roxanne changed everything on January 1st, 2016 @10:26pm, now 3 and is the most like me. She is the doll baby, the comedian, the princess... she had the most hair out of the 3. Sitting here now at age 27 with two 4 year olds and a 3 year old, what a journey so far. I adopted my daughter as a single parent. She was 4 months old and living at an orphanage in Ethiopia. Everyone at the orphanage knew her as the baby that never smiled and was always crying. The adoption worker even told me to prepare for my daughter to reject me as a caregiver. But when I held her for the first time, she looked deep into my eyes and gave me this beautiful dimpled smile. Today she's 13 years old, and I never get tired of telling her the story of the day we first met.

I had to have an emergency c-section and when I first saw her, a nurse was walking away with her. Her skin was purple and she had so much hair. My husband rushed off to give her formula because her blood sugar was dropping. I was so upset because I wanted to breastfeed only and have skin-to-skin contact, and I was so scared that something bad was happening and I hadn’t held her. They took me to recovery and I fought sleep because I thought I could convince them I was ready to go my room and see my baby. Things rarely go as planned, but I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. It’s magical and terrifying at the same time.

I personally know a single father and he's a single father because his daughters mom wasn't stable. She was partying all the time and she didn't want her daughter anymore. My sisters ex coworker is a single father because his wife passed away after she gave birth. I too am curious to know 🤔

When my mother first saw me, she asked the nurse if it was really her baby. My older twin sisters came out so beautiful. I'm the ugly duckling. I'm the victim of the bullying by the amazing twins. Luckily, my mum and dad did support me, but my dad always had true love. My mum probably didn't truly support me. My twin sisters were named, most likely to succeed and won several art awards. I was different, I was good at sports and I could only draw a weird stick man. In the end, my sisters had to take their SATS 2 times! Now, I'm one of my country's State swimmers!! I'm so excited for my competitions. And just remember, don't bully; and being different is great and unique!!❤️ Xoxo Nikki

I had a complete placenta previa... i spent a almost all of my pregnancy hemorrhaging off and on. Eventually they told me I had to stay in the hospital until I had him. We all knew he’d come early. They thought they were going to have to give me my c-section around 22 weeks and told me he may not make it. I was moved to the labor and delivery room. I had nothing left in me but at the same time had so much hope. The bleeding stopped. I lasted until 32 weeks and it was a miracle. I was bleeding out and going into labor at the same time, which is extremely dangerous for the condition I had. It was 3 am. My doctor got there and I they ran with me to the surgery room and cut me open and got my son out in less than 5 minutes because he was drowning and choking on my blood. When they finally pulled him out and I heard him cry and knew he was alive, I finally let go and put my stress in someone else’s hands for once since the last few months. I passed out from the blood loss and woke up later. My memories aren’t clear from when I had my son. All I know is they said “he’s breathing!” And it’s like my soul was okay. I was so sick I couldn’t meet or hold my son until 3 days after I had him. The first time I got to see my baby truly was in a picture that someone showed me from the nicu. I forced the nurses to let me go down and see him. I was in so much pain but I made it there and got to see him, he was so tiny. A little 3 pound miracle. I named him Liam not for aesthetics but because it stands for “strong willed warrior.” And that’s what he was. And still is. He’s the light in my life. I love my son and even tho I’m a single mom and his father has absolutely nothing to do with him, he saved me. God I love my boy.

I'm 21 and I've never prioritized dating and relationships, instead choosing to fast track my education in order to graduate early and jump into teaching. My job takes majority of my time and focus and sometimes I worry if I'm going to feel I wasted my youth and miss my chance for love. But to avoid being too anxious or sad, I remember my parents married at 30 and had my brother and I when they were 34 and 37. And I know of others who were in their 40s when they started their families. Everyone has their own pace. Don't get too down that you haven't met Mr./Ms. Right yet!

The one friend I thought would never want a kid told me she wants one by 35. I told her to keep in mind if that's what she wants to look at sperm banks when the time comes. You don't need a father to raise a child just the sperm.
