Hey guys! I'm Alexandra Gater and I show you how to do rental-friendly upgrades and DIY projects on a budget. New videos every Saturday! Today I'm making over a tiny 100 sq ft condo living/dining room and turning it into a soft, whimsical space. This tiny living room needs to be a space that can host lots of friends for movie nights and a space for lounging, too. I hope you love this space as much as I do!!

This turned out beautiful, especially the island. However, Alessia did mention her Italian roots and a style that reminds her of her grandmother. So instead of framing a picture of Paris and “La vie en rose”, I would have preferred to see a picture of Italy and eg. “La dolce vita” !

So I don’t normally comment which I should but I’ve been watching you since like before the treehouse. I am an older subscriber I’m in my 50s and I was an interior exterior decorator and designer in Seattle Washington on and off for 20 years and I’ve stayed current with everything going on via KZbin and other platforms. This is the second time that a balcony has not been considered in the overall space and it is SOOOOO frustrating. I don't understand how there wasn't even a nod to the balcony, which is where friends will spill out to probably 5 months out of the year, if not 6. Why, Alexandra, why? This happened in the apartment with the crazy weird triangular layout and I couldn't understand it then either. But here, the omission is next level because it is sitting right there. Empty, bleak, and forlorn.

This is my favorite makeover so far. I love the traditional elements mixed with the metals that are so rich in color. The plumbing pieces with wood shelving around the little sofa adds such interest to style. Your choice of wallpaper looked as though I was in a airplane looking at clouds through the window. The attention to detail just continues to elevate lately (like painting the trim on the island, the outlet plates, projector, or styling the extra open shelf in the kitchen)- this was such a huge transformation, and I’d love to see more in this style! I know there have been some comments in the past about the art prints feeling kind of generic, but I thought in this one the balance of photos and prints looked a lot more individualized and like they’d be easy for Alessia to add her own photos and mementos to.
