Beautiful airplane in and out. Thanks for covering the external camera mounts in detail. Very useful info. Never flown in an Aztec but I did have a chance to sit in one several years ago. Amazing spaciousness. Thanks for sharing.

Really happy you enjoyed the video. The rules regarding the cameras were confusing at first, and I do think it's important for me to share what I've learned in an effort to help all of us stay safe and legal.

I would suggest Crystal River - They have clear kayaks to rent and the manatees are great this time of year.

Thx for sharing the details of your Aztec, looks beautiful! My Dad had the last B Aztec built before the C came out, he used it for commercial charter as well as a his personal transportation. It was certainly a different panel than what you have, but it was a different time. He flew it in all conditions and had some interesting challenges with it but it always came home. I expect it will serve you well.

We appreciate the compliments Dwayne. The Aztec is a tough, well designed, and solidly built plane. Very robust. We're really happy with ours. Happy to hear that your dad's Aztec served him well.

Nice, I asked this question on why the Aztec in a newer video you made and found this one. Got my ME in a B model and your overview is spot on why I am considering the Aztec. I am thinking NA D model. Thanks for the overview. Happy Flying!

We hear you loud and clear. Key West has been on our list for some time now, and you won’t have to wait too much longer. It’s on our short list of places to go within the next year. Stay tuned.

Unfortunately, the individual chapters do not currently appear to be working correctly in regard to the video's progress bar - We will continue to attempt to get this corrected. For now, if you wish to skip ahead to individual portions of the video, timestamps contained within the description are working. Thanks for watching!

Just found your channel searching for Aztec videos, beautiful plane and enjoy the videos. I'm a 200 hour single engine guy and have always wanted to step up to a twin, definitely sounds like something I could handle. Of course then there's insurance which was never cheap for a twin, but in current market I'd be afraid to get a quote!
@DoubleDawgDare3 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel! For what it's worth, we love our twin. I've experienced engine trouble in the past, and for the geography that we encounter (often over water), having that second engine is worth the expense. That being said, the insurance is horrendous, as is the fuel burn, so I'm not going to minimize that. It is possible to get insurance, however, even for a 200 hour pilot. I was in your position (~200 hours) when I bought this plane, and the insurance company required 25 hours instruction in my aircraft and 25 hours solo before passengers when I bought it. Best of luck on your journey and thank you for watching and commenting!

I love the Aztec; respectable speed, great range and excellent CG range. Chances are if you can get it through the doors the Aztec will haul it. The baron 58 is faster but for a forgiving family plane you can''t beat the Aztec!

We love our Aztec! For our family, it was definitely the right plane. It has so many positive attributes.

Very Clean beautiful Family plane ! You have a green Left Gear lamp out?

Sometimes it goes out and just needs a little wiggle to turn back on. I have a whole bag of extra lamps for when they do actually go out. You’ve got good eyes!

Enjoy the educational aspect in all of these videos. Lets people know that it's not simply flipping switches and pulling back on steering wheels.

We’re really glad you like them. Keep in mind, I’m no super pilot, and a true flight instructor brings better skills to the table than I demonstrate in these videos. That being said, I’m doing the best I can to improve on every flight, and with every video. Thanks so much for watching, it motivates us to keep putting them up.

Hi, thank you for your videos. I’ve begun searching videos about the Aztec as my son is considering one. He presently has a Cherokee 6 but wants something with more speed without sacrificing useful load. Would you mind sharing how you found the one that you have? It really is one of a kind. The avionics are pretty much what my son has in his 6. There’s no way that he could go “backwards” so to speak. Thanks again and keeping making the videos with your wonderful family.

I was actually looking for a twin, specifically a Baron, as my mission often involves over water trips. After spending some time in a Baron and an Aztec, the space and useful load of an Aztec won me over. This particular Aztec was brought to me by a broker who knew I was in the market. It is truly one of the best Aztecs I've ever seen. I suggest your son reach out to this broker as I think he moves more Aztecs than any other. His name is Scott MacDonald in Stuart, Florida.

@@DoubleDawgDare I’ll call them in the morning. My hunch was that you might have used them. And you are correct. It is better than anything I’ve been able to find today in my searches. I’ve found one or two somewhat similar but not quite like your Aztec.

Thanks for your videos. I have an Aztec c and I’m thinking of moving up to an f turbo model. Have the turbos been a significant maintenance problem for you. Would you go turbo if you had it to do over? I’m in Arkansas and most of my flying is 8000msl. Lately I find myself flying out west Co, NM, NV…. Flying higher out west would be nice and over some weather here in the flatland.

Is that left main indicator light burnt out... or do you need to check the switch? Or is it just a camera illusion?
@DoubleDawgDare2 жыл бұрын
We just have to push on the light indicator itself. The lights often fail to illuminate and are corrected by a simple push of the light. It's a quirk of the plane and it gets my attention every time.
