What is Palia?
Palia is a brand new free to play cozy MMO community simulation game set in a fantasy world. You play as a part of the human race who has suddenly returned back to Palia under mysterious circumstances, as you play more secrets will be uncovered. There is lots to do in this world including, fishing, farming, cooking and mining!

You grill the fish because you get 1: cooking xp 2: chance to star up the recipe which then increases based on value of the fish used, definitely worth it

I’ve been playing Palia non-stop in the last three days and I’m sure that it will only get worse… because I love it! So, as usual, I discover most of the things by documenting myself. This video was very helpful, as I didn’t know a few things, yet. A few more tips: - When you try to catch a bug, charge a smoke bomb as soon as the first one hits, so you’re ready to throw another one if needed (if not, just right click). - If you’re trying to catch something in particular as you fish and you don’t want to waste your bait, observe what takes the bait before left clicking. If it’s not something you want, just let it swim away without pressing anything. This won’t level up your fishing skill, but at least you won’t waste any warms. - If you’re playing with friends, make sure that everyone in the party interacts with whatever you’re farming at least once. This is especially convenient with flow trees for example, which people tend to call out to everyone in the server, as more people are needed to chop them down. - If you want a fishing bonus, fish with another player and make sure that you’re close enough to each other, so that you can both get the bonus. - Some fishes and bugs not only spawn exclusively in certain locations, but also in exclusive times of the day. Check the wiki to know exactly where and when you can find your prey. - You can fast travel through the map between the stables, however that will cost you. I suggest you to just walk, unless you must hurry up for whatever reason. - To get fast food and gold get some oysters on the coast of Bahari’s Bay. Once you open them, you get meat and you can also get pearls. - Spend all your Renown points at the Phoenix first, then at the Dragon and finally at the city hall. I find it more functional, this way you’ll level up your abilities much faster and to be honest you don’t need much space in your lot unless you want to expand your house. I think that’s all I can share! I love this community, it’s very welcoming and totally wholesome. Let’s help each other. 💕

If your looking for a rare fish and have limited glow worms (or regular worms) that you don't want to waste, but don't mind wasting some rod durability, you can see what fish is striking before you set the hook. If it's not what you want, just wait for it to swim away, then pull your bobber back in. Your rod's durability will take a hit, but the worm won't be used. Then just cast again and the next fish has a chance to be different. Just waiting without pulling your rod back and recasting won't work though...the same fish will keep biting over and over unless you recast.

If an NPC is asleep in their room, you can also approach their bedroom door and interact with them (store/chat).

I found the stables fast travel system yesterday. Using too much can get expensive, but it's quicker than running between maps, and it's cheap to teleport home when the map teleport is on cooldown

don't buy furniture from Tish's store! You can make it yourself for far less gold. The first time you make a piece, you get to choose from 3 things you can learn to make. If you make that new thing, you can learn another. Eventually you will learn all the items that she sells, and you will level your furniture making in the process.

Grilling fish DOES give you benefit in gold, since you can get starred food which as you said is 1.5 times the prices... let's say you have 2 fishes 100 gold each, the normal cooked fish will give you 200 but if you get a starred food then it'll give you 300. Furthermore, grilling fish does not make you loose money, but raises your cooking skill... it's a win/win

It’s not guaranteed though, so it isn’t the best way to make money. Early game yes it’s good to raise your cooking skill but it’s still not a time effective way to earn money once you have the oven and other means of cooking.

@@Fleurs_ not the "best"... but you make money by cooking it ... This morning I put all I fished in the sell box, 3400g ... removed it, cooked it, put again the fried fish 4500g... I think it's worth, again, not to mention you are raising as well your cooking level.

The increased value of grilled fish comes from the chance to get high-quality grilled fish.... and you also level up cooking as bonus.

That makes sense but that isn't guaranteed, I just wanted to include it as a few have told me it's the way they make money but it isn't as lucrative as they think.

on average you increase your sales by 20% with cooking them. If you had 5k of fish and cook them you will average 6.2k in sales after cooking. That is on top of the cooking experience you'll be getting@@Fleurs_

Grilling fish results in combined value. However, for extra 15 seconds, you also get free cooking experience. There is also the chance the grilled fish is star quality, hence resulting in higher gold value.

I heard that you can unlock every one of the furniture items as a recipe yourself, if you'd rather not spend the coin:) Edit: Ah you mention it later. Plus, I think you can get renown by fulfilling other players' item requests, so its not a finite resource?

I definitely dont think renown is a finite resource, you just got to be mindful it caps at 1k!

The storage is shared between the plots put 8 storage bins on each plot and you can store 6400 items

Grilling gives a chance of getting star food, and that increases the value.

How to find clay?

Best place to find it is along the coast lines!

Start down by the fisherman area and run left side up along the water. There are brown mining nodes for clay along along that route as well as other items to grab.

You can teleport there from the signs. It only costs 10 gold and there's no cooldown

The one with Fisherman’s brew doesn’t seem to be correct. There are two prices on the brew, first 19, which you sell ONE brew for, and 95 is the price for the batch you have in the video. So you actually sell the brew for less money than the original resources combined 😶
