Very interesting to see this in your area. Been there and done that on the other side of the world (in Oz), except the properties were a bit larger. One was more than a million acres, so rounding up the cattle was a multi-day activity and is some cases used a helicopter to find a drive them out of the bush. Same types of issues though including carrying lagging calves on a quad.

One of the most wholesome shows on KZbin for sure! Your wife and your girls are the backbone of this channel. But you sir are a great narrator LOL. I do know that your knowledge is benefiting the whole family.. I do recommend this show to all my friends that like homesteading. You guys buy far have my most interest. I am sort of a handyman or a job site I can do anyting. But I'm learning a lot if I had off-grid from you! I absolutely love your channel, please keep it going and if you have time more videos!

As a teenager, I helped my uncle and my cousins at their family farm/ranch in northern Montana. They had about the same number of cows, but also did farming on their own land and rented nearby land. Did some branding, cutting, and stuff. It was a great time for me, daily existence for them. They hit on some oil on their property in the 90's and made out pretty well. Anyhow, fun times and memories.

Thanks again for a grand video of the way things still are out on the land where food comes from. This is the first year for me in 27 odd years I'm not branding as my rancher buddy sold off his herd. Here in the Okanagan cows are still moved with horses too as it's too steep to do it on quads or dirt bikes. Anyways thanks for the memories and for showing those folks who've never been there or done that how it actually is. Stay well.

Hey there , good to see you and yours out and about doing the neighborly thing ! Values that have been lost in the shuffle . I am so glad you are instilling ethics and compassion into the girls . Ha! Like they're not having any fun , some of the best memories you'll ever have will be just everyday activities , doing the LIFE thing . I raised my three sons and a couple dozen of their wild buddies on this ranch . Cows , horses , quads , rattlesnakes , grumpy granddads , all manners of terrifying things . Best job I ever had . WE have a grandkid now , ALL BOY , claims all my stuff , ruins my cow dogs , drinks my coffee , good times are back . THE only hope for this world is our children , good on ya ! LOVE your channel , your girls are the " bestest ". You r banter with Dave reminds me of the GREAT WHITE NORTH , take off aye ! Bob and Doug McKinzy were a hoot . So long from Northwest Kansas .Thanks again , Best stuff out there.

You folks are always smiling and its contagious. Thanks! The cattle drive reminded me of my teen years working with cattle and sheep. Dad, my brother and I would go to the north east California for the summer and herd sheep on horse back. Hated it then. Ashamed of that now. I have met many men my age who are envious that my dad was around. Your children are so lucky and your family is beyond precious.

Happy to see all your smiling faces. Wish I could of been there and be 40 years younger doing it lol I really miss being able to ride. It was so funny when you explained words like 'cow' and 'heifer', 'steer', 'bull' :))) It's just impossible not to know that, we all went to school:) Anyway, as you're experienced herders, welcome to Russia:) Just imagine, 800 reindeer move for 5 miles every 4 days!... And reindeer herders know every of their deer. Even if herds mix, they recognize their deer anyway:) So, if you really want a unique experience with cattle herding, come my country, Native Siberians will be glad to share their experience.

Now I'm hungry. Real shame all those family farms are being replaced with factory farms. Just watched a video and they were explaining one of the reasons small towns are dying, is because with large scale factory farms, they don't need as many people. So there isn't enough work to sustain the village. Very very sad, but nice to see there's still a few left.
