Even in my suburban middle school in Canada, gangster rap inspired a trend of kids acting like thugs. Dame didn't have shit to say when he found out Patrick grew up in Iran. P.s. Dame made money off of rap. I think back then some of what they were saying was trying to get a lot off their minds coming from a bad situation but then it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy and creates more violence by glorifying it to the next generation. Glorifying bad shit doesnt change it for the next gen but in this case allowed them to to make money to get out of it. Check yourself and evolve out of it.

If the studio owner only funds artist that align with the owner's bias then only the products that align with the owner's bias gets produced. All of the other alternate products that would have been made by the other artists get filtered out. Example: let's say you have two rappers. Let's call them Rapper A and rapper B. Rapper A is a college kid rapping about relationships and finding the girl of his dreams to spend the rest of his life with. Rapper B is a thug rapping about banging hoes. The studio owner goes with rapper B because he believes The thug Life is more exciting and rapping about monogamy is boring. So all of The rappers like rapper A Get filtered out. After a while, the Rapper A like rappers realize that they'll never break into the industry rapping the way they do so decides to emulate Rapper B to get noticed by the studio owner.

That crap about people listening to Aliyahs music was wrong, as she was an underage rape victim, and R Kelky was abusing her. Nobody knew that then. There were reports, but no evidence/arrest. When was R Kelly finally banged up for raping underage girls?
