The United States once tried to buy Greenland out for $100 million. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest international border, at 8,890 km. This compares with the 6,846-km boundary between Russia and Kazakhstan and the 5,308-km frontier between Chile and Argentina. 😱😱😱 05:09 This is just wrong. Although George V was at war with Germany during the FIRST World War (1914-1918), he was NEVER at war with Nazi Germany, as he died in 1936, and World War II only started in 1939, at which time George VI was king. As for Ireland, it was partitioned in 1922 into Northern Ireland (6 counties), and the Irish Free State (36 counties) which would become the current country of Ireland. Although it was not declared independent by the British until 1948, Ireland abolished the monarchy in 1936 and adopted its new constitution in 1937. They did not declare war on Germany because they were no longer British subjects.

Almost 5,000 Irish joined the Allies to fight the Axis Powers in World War 2. Ireland helped the Allies with intelligences, weather forecasts, and opening up shipping routes. Many ships from the USA first stopped in Ireland. Ireland was suppressed by the Brits for centuries, and their Civil War with Britian only ended six years earlier. Officially, they couldn't look like they were on England's side. In reality, their help was crucial to turning the tide. So please give Ireland some credit and slack.

While set of the 3 artifacts that were discovered in Iraq in 1936 were called the Baghdad Battery, there was never a battery in the items. There have been many expirments and recreations of this item, but the results are inconclusive at best. To quote Professor Elizabeth Stone in 2012, who is an expert on Iraqi archeology, who returned from the first archeological expedition there in 50 years, "[she] does not know a single archaeologist who believed that these were batteries." That includes archeologists of many nations - including Iraq who are experts in their field.

@@earthbasics10it depends on the coastline paradox and how you measure it. The vast majority of standard measurement increments say canada has the longest coastline, but one could argue that it’s actually norway if you theoretically measure in an infinitely small increment. However, that’s literally impossible with current technology to prove whether that’s true or not so it’s usually accepted as being Canada until some aliens come along to prove us wrong or smthn

Don't forget Macau...though not an independent country per se, it has great autonomy within China and Portuguese as an official language.

Depending on the country, most actually use a dot, and a comma as decimal seperator.

Portuguese is not an official language in Goa. It ceased to be in 1961, when the former Portuguese territories of Goa, Daman and Diu were annexed by India. Nowadays about 10,000-15,000 people know and speak it to some degree in said territories. However, Portuguese is still an official language in Macau. Unfortunately, it is a dying language there as only 2-3% of the population speak it.

In the Italian language, a word which sounds like "die" really means "come one", but you mispelled it in the video: in Italian it is "dai"
