100 Year Old Church Building - Former Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum

Built in the early 1920s, this church building was home to a Christian Science congregation for many years here in Jacksonville Florida. Facing downtown and nestled between a spacious park and historic neighborhood of the same era, this church has resided in the heart of our city for over 100 years. For the past 30 years it has been home to the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum. It will soon be refurbished into an event center and continue to bless our city with its architectural presence.
I have enjoyed visiting this building many times over the years and it was a pure joy to document it for this video. I especially enjoyed crawling around behind the walls and viewing the wood beams, diverse masonry components and plaster lath support structures that comprise the majority of this building. It's very hard to capture in pictures how special and welcoming this building is. It's original designers and patrons created something special that we can enjoy to this day. Hope you like the video!
