Great recap, as always! The basic plot hole in this film is that if they had such an amazing AI to create this paradise on the moon, wouldn't it have been far more easy to create several of these (perhaps thousands and thousands of them) on Earth, a place that is already capable of sustaining life, has abundant water and has an atmosphere? It would seem like a lot less work, with a much better outcome!

The A.I. on this TV show, IO, has been established of capable handling calculation that helped the humans engineered a livable space on the Moon. So basically this is huge plot hole to consider since such an AI like this can definitely rebuild Earth from it's environmental and societal collapse. In the real world, such notion would be challenge at least for years with two sides like it 'all for the people' vs 'only the rich and corrupt government rights'. But in this setting, it needed to go like this since it won't be a story without it.
