They'r basing these looks off of "popular" fashion of the time but the whole point of goth and punk was that it went against the mainstream. That 1970's style was only vaguely punk. Not sure why they COMPLETELY skipped the 80's goth movement and the 50's beatnik style (the spiritual predecessor to punk and goth). And they picked steam punk for the 2000's? No scene or emo fashion? Are you kidding me? The biggest resurgence of punk in decades, the popularization of guy-liner and brightly colored hair before it was socially acceptable and they just skip it? And of course, Rhiannon invented the dark lipstick trend. Definitely wasn't a thing in the 90's and 80's.
