To my liberal friends, who will say that we need higher income taxes, you are wrong. The government will spend and piss your money out the window and what will the politicians say? "We need more money!". Look at east Cleveland schools. Highest cost per pupil and the lowest scores. And this is just one example.

It's also worth noting that according to Ken Burns documentary "Prohibition," it's explained that 70% of federal revenue was raised via the excise tax on alcohol. The prohibitionist were gathering strength after the 19th century and knew in order to make it possible to ban alcohol that they would have to first displace tax revenues away from the alcohol market. The 16th amendment made it possible to ban alcohol without bankrupting the federal government. 8 years later prohibition began.

You know full well that the income tax was never legitimately ratified via Philander Knox; Secretary of State under President McKinley. Your Dad was right. I would never have the guts to do what he did. But he was right. The IRS needs abolished.

Apparently you don't know full well that the authority to impose taxes (INCLUDING an income tax) was delegated to Congress in 1789 -- Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 of the Constitution. That was the authority for the Civil War era income tax, which lasted from 1861 to 1872 and which was ruled constitutional by a unanimous Supreme Court in 1881. The only reason for the 16th Amendment was to overturn an 1895 Supreme Court decision holding that an unapportioned tax on investment income (interest, dividends, rents) was a direct tax and therefore unconstitutional. But the Court went out of its way to confine its ruling to investment income and noted that unapportioned taxes on other types of income such as business income and personal compensation were excises and therefore constitutional. In sum, the 16th Amendment (which was properly ratified, as every court that has ruled on the bogus claim that it wasn't has held) wasn't necessary to tax wages, salaries, and other types of compensation. In addition, the Court later disavowed its 1895 ruling and stated that the earlier decision was based on a "mistaken theory".

Exactly. You pay tax only on what you consume. You pick and choose those things that you want to buy in which the tax money goes into specific programs. Such as education, roads, etc. A direct, unappropriated income tax on labor is just about as un-American as anything I can think of. Imagine, paying Uncle Sam BEFORE you pay yourself! Who do you work for? Whose's your daddy?!

Anytime you increase the tax on the wealthy, the wealthy avoided the tax to the best of their ability. When that happens, you have less of a chance to obtain a job with them because of the increase in the tax, or you pay more for their services. Either way consumers pay.

No, they are built and maintained by the Highway Trust Fund since it was established in 1956 to finance the Interstate Highway System. The fund receives money form the federal fuel tax that was 3 cents in 1956. Today, instead of being less, like every product on the free market that gets cheaper and better over time, the fuel tax is 18.3 cents/gallon on gasoline and 24 cents on diesel. Roads are a government monopoly forced on people. All roads should be private toll roads.

The one thing the income tax has going for it is that it was accomplished constitutionally via adding it as the 16th amendment. Just about everything else government does today is an end-run around the constitution because it would be too hard to pass a new amendment. Gee, that would be horrible if government couldn't just pass every little thing their hearts desired. If only...

I don't believe government inflation statistics, but using gold is a poor metric for determining the value of $20,000 today. Two years ago @ $1,900 an oz, the calculation would be wildly different. In addition, in 1913 the price of gold was set @ $20 an oz by the U.S. Government, not the free market. Even using gov. inflation statistics, the bracket started at $450,000 in today's dollars, good enough to prove the point.

The Social security car IS transferred to you the TRUSTEE from the Social Security Administration. You cannot transfer to another is not the point, only that the RES is the card transferred to you making you the Trustee (one who excepts Trust Res property). Having a SSN to be tax is also DOES NOT EXPLAIN HOW THE TRANSFER OF A SSN CARD IS NOT A TRUST. Simple question what is a 'Trust"? What are the elements of a trust?

What about the state? When state taxes and spends through hiring public servants, are people getting more bang for their buck? Are people getting services worth the amount lost in taxation? Or is the state just creating a privileged group of people who are not actually producing anything but only manage to live off the taxed population? Is this your HUMANITY? The system of free market and rule of law is the most HUMANE and BENEVOLENT system there ever was or will be.

There is no INCOME TAX on YOUR Earnings, that is against the law. The FEDERAL INCOME TAX is a tax upon the SOCIAL SECURITY SUB-TRUST ACCOUNT. That is why to speak to the IRS you must have a SOCIAL SECURITY #. It is the trust name and account number the payroll check is being made out to, NOT YOU! When you endorse the check that is made out to the Sub-Trust account you now made yourself LIABLE to pay the taxes that only the sub-trust account owed, not you!

furthermore, most of us DO gladly give our incomes away to friends, family and companies/causes we believe in. The problem is that once the money is taken by the state, the majority of it goes to serve causes and interests that are detrimental to a peaceful society (i.e military industrial complex). Contributing to society is not the issue, the issue is people should be free to choose how and what they contribute to 100% of the time and not having going to things that no one opted for to begin

Schiff is against most taxes, especially the income and property tax. However, he has said he does not mind paying sales taxes as those taxes are voluntary (in the sense that he doesn't have to buy anything) and there's no time involved paying a sales tax. You must not be aware of the gas tax that is added on to the cost of every gallon of gasoline you purchase, which funds the roads. Also, money is real. Gold is money and people the world over decided it was money before any government did.

Wrong. Poor people compete and they compete successfully on their chosen market niche. They are actually so good that the likes of Peter must give up entirely on those market and stay in their own chosen niche. This phenomenon is known as the division of labor and specialization. The freer the market place, the more there is specialization and trade. Now, people in different business don't actually compete. Instead they co-coperate through trade. They are on the same side.
