There is a gate that prevents you going to the water because in 2016 at that hotel a family from Nebraska was vacationing when an alligator grabbed the family toddler from the shore and dragged him to the water drowning him despite of the father’s efforts to save the child. Very sad

Honestly I wasn't surprised. From my experience Disney hotel prices are alway's about double what they are worth. We stayed at the Art of Animation once for 300 dollar the night and the AC was not working great (they have the thermostat locked so you can't lower it pass a certain point ) and they just gave us a box fan. Not to mention the room was super small. Had it not been in Disney I could have gotten a better room at a Marriott Spring Hills for about 150.

And the kiddos love the breakfast as do my husband and I. They always love making their own waffles. For the price of the place he stayed we could stay 5 nights at the Hampton Inn. Oh and my now husband and myself have spent a few nights in our car because it was late when we got to our destination that we refused to pay for an entire day for just a few hours. HaHa!!

Timmy, the reason that the lake was fenced off there is because in years past it was not and a 2 year old toddler there at the Grand Floridan was by the water there with his parents when a big alligator lunged out of the water snatched him and quickly took him into the watet. His body was recovered the following day. At the time there were no warning signs up by the water warning of alligators. Unfortunately a lot of people from out of state are unaware of the danger that alligators present in almost any body of water. Be careful around water when visiting Florida people.

Timmy I had a job where I had to to Orlando and research all the Disney resorts. The Grand Floridian was sooooo beautiful and the lunch we had made me shooketh!!! It was Christmas time and it was all decorated and the had a giant gingerbread house on display. Not many people know this but the chairs by the large Birdcage used to have a little old lady that sat there all the time because when her husband was alive that was their favorite place to sit😊💕 Great job again, I hope you loved your stay as much as I did. Honest but animated and could almost taste the food as you described it! I went to the citricos restaurant there and had the best truffle risotto and got a great view of the fireworks. Also we loved the free bread so much they gave us extra. Also the wait staff was superb.

$900 is quite expensive plus going to their theme parks! Holy crap! I appreciate spending time with you there. Lunch was pretty decent. Strange that they don’t have room service for lunch. I guess they want you to venture out to their restaurants. The amenities are nice. I hope you can access them all with the price of your room. Mickey shaped mints is a fabulous idea! 💡 I love room service there. They present it well. I’m happy to see you enjoying your meals. Time to go comes so quickly. We stayed there Christmas 1989. It was 17° and it snowed. We have a picture in front of the frozen fountain. Alan Thicke and his family were there. It was definitely an experience. All the landscaping was replaced immediately when it died from the cold. My dad refused to wear a coat 🤣. I'll never forget that.
