Gamers Nexus tested the 8 pcie lanes and it took a Nvidia Titan V to even show signs of bottleneck so even a 1080ti isn’t a problem
@creturofdarknss6 жыл бұрын
Jacob Vega Video cards and gaming dont untilize all of the lanes available, now if you go towards video production, you're going to need those extra lanes. Like Brett said, if you're primarily using the pc to game, then 8 panes is going to be a none issue.
@vegajf516 жыл бұрын
Gaming, Tech, Linux just curious which video editing program uses 16 pcie 3.0 lanes? I am not saying your wrong as I don’t know, but I am skeptical, have a buddy with an older intel rig he does some video editing on and I am not sure it saturated its x16 2.0 lane which is the same as a x8 3.0 lane but maybe it is a bottleneck...... do you have any proof of this as I am interested.
@creturofdarknss6 жыл бұрын
Jacob Vega i have tested it with different motherboards. My first sytem that I built had a h110 chipset. I believe it only had x8 on the pcie 3.0. Adobe premiere when I was using cuda to render my videos was faster when the z270 chipset rather than the h110 chipset. Yes, I used the same video card for my tests.

not a bottleneck at all, i meant to say a few more fps in high refresh rate games like csgo cuz higher clock speed, and also you get 2 more cores with the 2600, that was my point, the 2400g is definitely not a bottelneck for a 1060.
@conandude766 жыл бұрын
It is for the 1070 in a few games. Check out hardware unboxed and gamers nexus vids to see it illustrated. It's small, but it's there and it's repeatable. So when you go to upgrade that vid card in 3-5 years, you're not going to get much of a perf bump from upgrading the card, AND more and more games are now coming out that use more and more cores. IMO If you wanna save 150 rand, and will just be buying an entirely new system every 3 to 5 years, than sure, this is great. If you want to still be playing 1080p60fps very high / ultra in 3-5 years, go with something that won't bottleneck a 1070, 'cause new cards are comin'.

In the EU, both CPUs (1600 and 2400G) are almost at the same prize (147 € and 144 €, both + shipping) since some weeks after the release of the 2400 G. If you want to ramp up without having a graphics card, I guess you have to buy a 2400G (or a 2200G of course). If you build a new system up from the ground, I think a 1600 is a good alternative (since more than 4 cores actually do make a difference in gaming); especially if you have a spare GPU that is somewhat potent. And with somewhat potent I mean 750 Ti range, which is (at least!) 5 % to 10 % faster than Vega 11 in any situation. There are games that brings the Vega 11 to its knees, where the 750 Ti is able to swollow the load down (yes... ). Well, there is, of course, no better graphics card (speaking of it as a product) out there better than the 1060 6G (the feelings of my 9800 Pro, X1650 XT and HD 4670 are hurt now). Great video as usual!

Went the 2600x route myself. Got it brand spankin' new for under 200 usd. Performance wise, in games (that many actually will use more than 4 cores btw) I'm crushing my old i5 2500k@4.8GHz with same amount of ram, same vid card, same hard drive, ect ect. And I can stream while doing it and still hit better fps and detail settings than the old system. 89 bucks for open box full warrenty asus rog strix b350 gaming F, 194.99 for the cpu, and 95 bucks for 8 gigs of 3ghz ddr 4 (t-force rgb, 'cause #YOLO) Under 500 to upgrade existing system. With a vid card, hdd / ssd, PS, and case, we're looking at 978.97 USD thru amazon. That's a 2600x, on a nice-ish asus board, asus dual 1060 6gig, 8 gigs tforce ram, phanteks p400TG case, corsair 650W PS, WD 1TB HDD, 250GB toshiba SSD. Under 1k after shipping / taxes, will crush this "$1000 gaming pc" in everything, including price to performance and raw fps power.
@conandude766 жыл бұрын
Okay, so after figuring out the rand conversion, you'd have gone 11 dollars (or around 150 rand) over 1k to get the 2600x in there. Poor SA. Everyone deserves better parts prices.
@conandude766 жыл бұрын
the extra 150 rand for a decent mobo and a cpu that won't bottleneck the next gen of cards seems like a really really small price to pay, considering you get full pci-e bandwidth, and more cpu headroom for future upgrades.

@@hirzty5205 If you are doing the same building check your vcore voltage in the bios settings, for some reason the vcore was set to 1.45 by default wich apparently is too high, so I tweaked with it and set it to around 1.38, any lower value and the system becomes unstable and crash under heavy loads, also overclocked the processor to 3.8 GHz so maybe you can reach a stable lower vcore if you don't overclock. And at the last minute I went for a RX 480 8Gb instead of the Gtx 1060, haven't had a problem yet but the card gets uncomfortably hot and loud while playing very intensive graphic games.

You know what's a better pick than a 1060? An R9 390 or R9 Fury, depending if you want/need 8GB vram Costs as much as a 1060 6GB does right now, can be happily overclocked like a mofo, and rocks dx12/vulvan (in fact, they're roughly the same price or cheaper than RX 570/580, which they are objectively better than..... except for power draw, of course..) Only 8GB would be needed for gaming so you could cut about $100 off ram budget 8 threads wouldn't be needed for gaming, so you could save more money getting the R3 2200G (the Vega difference is negligible between 8 and 11, and without virtualized logic hampering the ipc of the 4 physical cores, the 2200G is a leagues better purchase)

motherboard- end of life, processor- no we won't buy it it's end of life!! yeah I don't get it. (also the 2400g is just AS end of life as 1600 lol since it's all Zen 1 architecture not Zen+) why yes, if I had seen this review before buying a 2600 this weekend I'd probably gone 2400g since it's just for 1080p also. BUT as it's the same (outdated) process as 1600 why not just go 1600? RAM compatibility? I don't know, sorry, rambling. Anyway, Happy Birthday!

my pc i quoted are a 2600 non x msi gaming plus x470 16gb ddr4 2666(could get faster but not sure about compatibility)gaming x rx580 8gb.Already have the psu and a antec gx1200 case(i know its bad case but its cheap :P) comes down to little under R17000.so 2k more for a cpu that is more an all round option.Oh and forgot i get 2x fans with.Friend convinced me to get rgb fans ffs.I hate xmas tree effect lol. I like the 2400g cpu as my brother has one but if your not purely gamer the 2600 makes more sense.

i have the r7 and r5 and the r7 it freezes in loading screens, like playing Vampyr last night took actually 5 minutes to load and iv seen it in other games. So it may be good all around but not good for gaming even with bios updates. I think its a developer thing.

Pierre I really recommend you get faster clocked ram. Ryzen especially benifits from higher ram clocks, due to the way infinity fabric works. Check out gamers nexus vids about ryzen and ram clock speeds effect on in game performance. It's enlightening.

kaz the difference with high ram frequences shows only if you are using a card that is better than a rx 580 or gtx 1060 otherwise is basically the same

Have to disagree here, even with a 1060 6gb the in game fps on ryzen 2600 was anywhere from 5-15% higher in almost all the benchmarks gamers nexus and hardware unboxed did, going from 2933 auto to 3200 with proper timings. Turns out it's the timings that make the biggest difference, as that directly effects latency, and infinity fabric accesses info thru ram caching. Lower the latency of the ram by 2 or 3 steps, and you actually do see a decent bump in games.

its really sad that for $1000 the best gpu one can put in is a 1060 6gb :(

Unfortunatly the 2400g does bottleneck on a few very very CPU intensive games.
