Fun fact: the 1000 Heartless battle as it was originally conceived would have been a lot harder than what we got. Keep in mind this game was originally for the Playstation 2. As just one example, concept art of this battle included multiple Behemoths (the Heartless Boss you fought inside Hollow Bastion's Keyhole in the first game is a Behemoth). Not only did they have to scale back to 800 Armored Knights and 200 Surveillance Robots, but also if you watch the enemies in that battle, they're a lot less aggressive than they are anywhere else in the game. It's especially noticeable once you get the number down to a couple dozen or so, and especially so if you've beaten all but one Armored Knight. The number of actors onscreen during the fight pushed the Playstation 2 to its limits. I think that's also why Donald and Goofy don't fight alongside you.

Not me almost crying when Goofy got knocked out 😭 I know he wasn’t dead but just remembering how I felt as a child feeling like he died brought the emotions back. Just the love that all of these characters have for each other is so beautiful. 😭😭

Finding out the truth about "Ansem" was such a great moment in the series so far. The first game was so lighthearted in comparison. I think that's when I knew for sure I was hooked for life. I love the more serious darker themes. And the Goofy death fake out WRECKED me when I first played. I truly fell for it as did so many others haha. Looking back on it now, it's silly because Disney would never allow one of their main characters to be killed off

So this part can be pretty confusing. So Ansem the Wise is actually a good guy and is friends with Mickey. Xehanort, one of Ansem’s apprentices, steals his name and becomes a heartless and a nobody. The heartless keeps pretending to be Ansem (calling himself Ansem, Seeker of Darkness), and is the big bad from KH1. The nobody, Xemnas, is the leader of the organization.

So Xemnas is technically still Xehanort just without his heart and is just an empty shell. Mickey calls him Xehanort even though Xemnas has abandoned that name.

The terms “heartless” and “nobodies” are kind of misleading. “Heartless” are hearts that have fallen to darkness and have been separated from the body. “Nobodies” are the shell/body that is left behind when the heart becomes a heartless. Heartless have no will and act on instinct, hence the name heartless. Nobodies inherit the persons memories and will, however they aren’t meant to exist in the first place (hence the name nobody).

Confusion is normal here, but make sure you do read those Secret Ansem reports as you go along, they are extremely illuminating. Also the character profiles in Jiminy's journal for any people you're confused about, they should help you too.

The guy who was messing with Ansem's computer was Xemnas. After he put that disc in, the credentials he input was 'ANOTHER' as a username, and six different passwords. 'another' is a word you can get if you start with Xehanort, remove the X, and rearrange the other letters. The six passwords are the names of Ansem's six apprentices; the true names of Organization XIII numbers 1-6.

It was cool to see you have a go at the Cavern of Remembrance. It's definitely a place you don't want to go to right now unless you're just looking for XP. Max out your Drive Form growth abilities tho (High Jump, Quick Run, etc) and you'll be able to make it all the way through to the end. When you do, there's a special surprise waiting. c;

I think that purple cave with the tougher enemies is a final mix thing. It's more for a post game sort of thing. I think I remember you need pretty much every drive form to get through its area, and it would help to level them up so that normal Sora can also get more moves, the higher jump from valor form is an example. That's why the red orb can be hit, to raise drive enough to go through the parkour.

This is correct. It's an endgame area and you need all drive forms leveled up to get through it. Although, I think there's ways to cheese it without all forms. I always found it odd that they chose to reveal that area at this point of the game. It often confuses new players who do not know what it is.

The orb itself indicates what Form you are expected to use- red for Valor.

@@psionoblast5379 I think they revealed it at that point because of the battle level of the first part of it. The early part has a Battle Level of 35, not too far off from the battle level of 30 that Hollow Bastion has at that point. The game even nudges players away from it with Donald saying there isn't time for a detour. Between that and the difficulty of the enemies inside, you'd think most players would call it and get back on track after the third death at the latest.

Alright, let’s break all of this down since it’s a lot of information in a decently short amount of time. Starting with 26:18, we see what looks like a suit of armor and a Keyblade, both of which look pretty old. But who did they belong to? Xemnas seems to know, given how he refers to them as “friend”. At 26:33, we cut to a flashback from an unknown time. We know it’s well before Chain of Memories because, according to the hooded man, Marluxia just joined the Organization. So it’s possible this flashback takes place either during or before the events of KH1. The hooded man talks with Zexion about “a bunch of warriors wielding key-shaped swords”. It’s highly possible that the suit of armor and Keyblade that Xemnas was talking to belonged to one of these warriors. The hooded man also says that, after the battle, there was an unconscious man who lost his memories: Xehanort. Did he take part in the battle and is the only survivor? Was he a passerby and got caught up in the struggle? Hopefully, the answers are revealed in the future. The hooded man also talks about the pair of chambers, and how Xemnas regularly spends time in the Chamber of Repose and “talks to someone”. It’s safe to assume he’s referring to the room with the armor and Keyblade that Xemnas refers to as “friend”. The other chamber, the Chamber of Waking, holds another “friend”. But what does this mean exactly? Another suit of armor and another Keyblade? Only time will tell. I hope this made it all a little easier to understand and keep track of. Many of these scenes were added by Final Mix, and it's okay to be confused by them. Demyx has a reputation as one of the most difficult story fights in the series, though it was cultivated when most people had only played the base game. Final Mix adds some abilities that help out a bit. According to the trailers, we were going to fight some Behemoths and Wyverns during the big battle. This is a good showing of Donald and Goofy's growth- they go from abandoning Sora because "follow the key" to disobeying their king and long time friend for Sora's sake. You have probably noticed by now that, except for the Dusks and Creepers, the Nobody mooks are named after Final Fantasy jobs-assassin, samurai, dancer.

Regarding Demyx, Final Mix didn't just add more abilities that help with the fight, it also extended the timer for the intermittent 10 Water Form challenge to 15 seconds from the original 10 seconds. Though, it's kinda funny to think about 10 seconds for 10 forms being demanding after what the Data fight gave us. And right at the end, too.

Dunno if anyone mentioned this when they first showed up, but the three fairies are Yuna, Rikku and Paine from FFX-2. Normally humans, of course, they're basically treasure hunters in their story. I kinda wonder if they made them tiny fairies to separate Rikku further from Riku...

By pursuing his experiences, he created his Heartless « Ansem » that you defeated in the first game and also created his Nobody « Xemnas » the leader of Organisation XIII. The Heartless is the disembodied heart of the person that's been taken over by the darkness. The Nobody is the body and soul left behind when a person with a strong will becomes a Heartless.

I was waiting for the point where you would arrive at the Cave of Rememberance. It is a side dungeon. It is the only place that yields Remembrance materials as well as some of the stronest fights in the game. Please note that this will give you things to do even after completing the game. Even though I fail the battles from time to time I am still obsessed with the dungeon.

Oh!! why Yuna and Rikku are how they are personality wise is in FFX-2, the sequel to FFX :) I also have a question! What other KH games do you plan on watching/playing? Honestly as crazy as it sounds although it's KH2, chronologically it's about the 5th story/game? Like there's quite a bit before it regarding lore and what not.

I recommend playing Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep at some point. It will add additional context to who Xehanort is linked to more specifically the portrait in Hollow Bastion. It will also provide context to the Xemnas cutscene going into the Chamber of Repose and talking to his “ friend “. Lastly the conversation with Xigbar and Zexion can be explained more in depth with a Birth by Sleep playthrough.

Ok here's some advice ;) 01. That Cave is best done after you finished the game and you're very high level. 02. You should use all the boost items on Sora, like AP boost. Dont bother using them on Donald & Goofy. It would be a waste. 03. You're half way through the game meaning, you're about to revisit all the previous Disney worlds with original stories. But word of advice, when the game tells you there's something going on in Twilight Town, do NOT go just yet! ok? First finish revisiting all the worlds and complete 100 Acre Woods and Atlantica, then you should advance to twilight town. Hehe 04. Those pixies are in fact Yuna, Rikku and Paine aka YRP aka The Gullwings from the Final Fantasy X-2, the sequel of Final Fantasy X. 05. Those castle ruins are in fact the Ruins from that castle you were in KH1. 06. Basically its goes like this, Xehanort=Human Form Ansem Seeker of Darkness =Heartless Xemnas=Nobody (is a anagram Ansem with the letter X mixed in there and not anagram of "Mans*x", an inside joke between us KH fans 🤣) Ansem The Wise is a completely different and separate character and Xehanort's Teacher. Sorry for throwing so much info at once. Lol hope it's helps. Been enjoying your videos. I discovered you when you started with Re:chain of memories but I'm definitely glad you you watch the cutscenes on that game Hehe. 😊

The Ansem stuff is always confusing at first, but the simple explanation is, some guy named Xehanort split himself in two, his heartless (which called himself Ansem for some reason) from the first game, and Xemnas- his nobody. Wise Ansem is unrelated and just had his name stolen.
