My first time in Foxhole, I immediately went out to the front. During a respawn, I noticed some enemies had flanked us, crossing the river from a blind spot. Me and one rando took them out, and discovered they had a small cache of guns and a boat. We took it for ourselves and used it for our own covert missions to cross the river. Turned out they had buddies so it became a whole navy battle between two small motor boats, with one of us using the boat the other trying to shoot. Both sides ended up dying, losing whatever supplies we had in the middle of the river...

@@RobertLovesGamesi want to finally learn how to stock weapons and ammo but infantry always pulls me away. i finally ran some medic this last couple days and enjoyed it especially when i can sidearm pitch smg. at 1k hours of frontline infantry mostly my instincts for combat and predictions are very tuned, i can usually smell a nade or arty round before its launched, its just pattern recognition tho, frontline usually follows some patterns that takes some time to tune into, like arty follows a flare or infantry are going to rush when tanks push, distance from friendly AT and MGs because they get targeted quick. as a medic remember to not congest the lane of traffic in a trench, they dont need 3 medics there, try not to always be in or ahead of the frontline unless you are fighting, as long as medic is in sight we can come to them, sometimes they block our retreat because they are hungry to heal. pitch sidearm, is probably the best gun in the game because its a full auto sidearm with better range than pistol, it makes any non combat role deadly.

My first experience with Foxhole was near the start of War 104. I bought the game, did the basic training tutorial on the home island, and spawned on Fisherman's Row to try out the infantry gameplay. The frontline had a decent population, but it wasn't very built up. I got my first experience fighting against FMGs, felt really overpowered when I got to loot a Fuscina from a fallen Colonial, and generally just played very defensively. After about an hour a group startee building a forward bunker base, and put down an EMG in a hex trench, and I went to check it out. I asked if I could man it, and a player next to me said these words that I still remember: "There are no civilians on my frontline soldier! I am promoting you to Private (he commends me), and as your first duty you will man that gun and kill every Colonial you see!" I then manned the EMG for the next two hours and killed many Colonials trying to Mammon us. 10/10 experience, give the new player the big gun on the frontline and make them feel like a hero, and they'll stay forever. I got the game close to a year ago and I just hit the 1000 hour mark myself, so I can confirm that it works.

I just 2600+ hours last war (the first half of this one - War112 i've been taking a break). This game is honestly incredible and I really love the players around me with only very few exceptions. Having been on the internet for a couple decades now I know how rare it is to meet such a tight-knit and niche community. IDK what my future this game will look like after so much of my time being sunk into it.... but I do know that the time i've put in has changed my gaming life for the better. I talk more in voice chat, I'm more relaxed when everything is going hell and when i do game with other players I work to help the team as a whole (something I've noticed is unextepected in other games and always greatly appreciated). I'm going sound wild but this game has changed my life in the same manner as how I game. I'm more social again after a low period in my life and when some great tragedy or misadventure occurs in my life it's become more of a "Yeah.....but like.... keep pushing the line and keep logi coming?? mentality. Everyone I've played with and played against has impacted my life in a way I'd never expected. Thank You all for being a part of my life. NEW PLAYER TIP: Take a couple days to learn what the game is about and know that all games have 'a$$holes' but we've got so many good players. Your character will d-e a hundred times and the team's experience matters more than your own. If you come into the game willing to help everyone out and are willing to change what you're doing you'll find a new family. I promise. Trust me - that trench you're building is going to get us all rushed - fill it in and ask how to do it well.

My first experience in Foxhole was building a truck, gathering scrap, producing weapons, ammunition, and spawn supplies, and driving it up north to a forward outpost. That was way back in 2017 when spawn supplies had their own unique factory. I’ve stopped playing Foxhole often like I used to but I still play it from time to time every few updates. I have over 4500 hours and mostly play on frontlines or during operations nowadays. I used to exclusively do logistics but at the time, I was solo and the logistics gameplay was becoming too tedious for my taste at the time. When I do take the time to do logistics, I do it for hours on end because even as a frontline player, I still love the logistics in this game. For any new players who may be reading this comment, feel free to try different aspects of this game. While you can essentially do just about anything.. The main things to do are: •frontline combat (infantry, medic, tanking, artillery, etc.) •logistics (gathering and refining raw materials, producing weapons and supplies, delivering supplies to the frontline, etc.) •building (building bases in the backline to provide a solid backbone for your combatants or to protect logistics from partisans, building frontline bases to push and secure territory, building facilities to further expand your logistical gameplay, etc.) •partisans (going into enemy back lines and disrupting logistics or builders wherever possible, scouting enemy territory for future operations, stealing enemy vehicles like tanks stored in the backline, setting up ambushes to kill frontline reinforcements and logistics, etc.) •naval (going head to head with enemy battleships, destroyers/frigates, gun ships, etc., staging landings to reenact D-Day in real time with hundreds of other players, doing naval logistics with badges, freighters, etc). There is so much to do in this game and it’ll only keep expanding for the foreseeable future. While the game mechanics are simple, the game depth is extensive. Solo and clan players can do their part. You can make a difference in the way just by logging on for 15 minutes and calling it a day. That is the beauty of this game.
@RobertLovesGames7 ай бұрын
Great first experience! Sounds similar to mine once I got into logi. I don't think I knew that spawn supplies like shirts had their own unique factory. That is cool to know! Glad to hear that a frontline player loves doing logistics from time to time. And thank you for adding your tip for new players! I hope this helps some new players out! Well said about your description of Foxhole and how only playing 15 minutes a day can make a difference. Thank you for that!

My first foxhole experience was an early-war battle between a mass of noobs vs another mass of noobs (using mostly rifles) across some swampy area in the south. Sometime later and after noticing the critical lack of BMATs in several fronts, I decide to tip my toes into logi. I learned mostly on my own how to do solo logi (of course, some vets provided great advice here and there). Your videos and other content creators helped quite a lot. Foxhole is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I can't think of many other war/combat oriented games where a player does not need to have super fast reflexes or aimbot-like accuracy to actually make decent contributions to their team. I've often heard it said that World War 2 was a war of logistics, and yet Foxhole is the closest thing we have to actually playing that role directly (as opposed to an RTS or grand strategy game). It's a sort of genre that I believe there is a market for and yet I don't see any games for. For example, Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator are quite popular despite just being about driving trucks, and in games like Digital Combat Simulator you have a decent amount of people who want to fly aircraft in a non-combative role within a combat zone (transport helicopters and the upcoming AC-130 for example) but that's a super in-depth simulator that takes a lot of effort to learn in comparison to a game like Foxhole. What I'm saying is: Foxhole is the only game that I'm aware of that comes even close to "Combat Logistics Simulator" while also catering to those who want to be doing the actual combat itself. I'm not even that big of a fan of the combat part (probably because I suck) but I do enjoy going up on the front lines with a medkit and helping others stay in the fight. Then of course there's artillery, where several people coordinate to shoot a handful of really big guns. I'm much more comfortable just running ammo back and forth from a pallet to an artillery gun than actually trying to do weird juking maneuvers in a rifle fight. There's even the possibility to play using Crew Served Weapons, which are basically the tripod weapons. One person carries the tripod and one carries the gun and you can work as a team reloading the thing and moving positions. There's so many different roles to play in this game is really does feel there's something for everyone. People who like crafting will like facilities. People who like to listen to a podcast while doing something with low intensity can either gather materials or drive trucks of supplies. People who like to do a bit of trolling can go partizan and sneak behind enemy lines to blow up said trucks. People who just want the spectacle of being on the front lines with bullets and explosions everywhere can get that quite easily. Truly a unique game that provides whatever experience you want to put effort towards.
@RobertLovesGames7 ай бұрын
It really is! Well said! I think there is a market for it but the market is just really small and Siege Camp basically owns it. If there were more games "like" Foxhole I would worry the playbase would be split up to much. Which is why I am worried a little bit for when Anvil Empires comes out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! It really is something unique that I love and can't find in any other game.

My first experience was during War 107, I believe, and I was stationed in Origin on the Warden's side. For all intents and purposes, it was a neglected front since we were stuck on the northern side connecting to Westgate with little in the way of supplies. I believe it was when we decided to hand Sableport to the Colonials because we did not want to fight in Sableport. Because of that, the Collies created a beachhead in the Ceo Highlands of Westgate, and Warden High Command, in their infinite wisdom, decided to contain the Collies to the Highlands. That made holding the Steel Road in Origin difficult because of partisan activity along The Divide in Westgate and The CInder Road into Origin. Not to mention, partisans in the Ceo Highlands hampered any push into Origin and Ash Fields.

Not my first memory, but one of my favourites was when I spent a few hours in a tank with this guy and eventually we pushed the enemy out of the hex. When everything was winding down and we were talking about logging off suddenly a messenger arrived by jeep ‘NAVAL INVASION ON THE BEACH’ The troops rallied and we headed to the beach to throw them back in the sea. To this day it was one of the most epic battles I’ve been, absolute carnage. The guy I was playing with was repairing the tank and was killed while he was mid-speaking so his mic cut out. The battle was intense but eventually we won the day. The beach was littered with bodies. The survivors lined up and saluted while I played the ‘Last Post’ (a little on the nose maybe). The game and community have a way to pull you into a story ❤

Great content as usual..... You have 1200 and I got almost 1600... and I started in war100 so it means i went twice as hard into this lol.... Still I totally agree and this was my experience so far I love building games but in the end it's pointless I'm also tired of chasing scores.... but the community, the fact that we build this together that's what makes me keep logging back on. One thing that i love is that sometimes you expend a whole war in a hex and the people in the hex next to you experienced the war in a totally different way multiple stories going on at the same time. I joined at war100 and most people agree it's been one of the best in resent years I totally felt the pressure to get it going and the whole let's make this count as a win. The immersion is soooo real. In fact I think I enjoy almost as much the discord work and the off-game planning than actually logging on and doing things. Our regiment even has training for new people to get to know how to do things. It is definitely a 24/7 war going on and you are even aware of how things are doing when you are not playing.

My first war was war 79, aka the Conclave war. And I was lucky enough to have picked Wardens as my faction. Fighting and defending the island was a hell of a new player experience, and whenever we managed to deblockade it it made me absolutely extatic. Plus I managed to meet Creepy Banana, who was playing on his Ward Wardenson account 😅 Also I remember trench fights in Linn of Mercy, how we were outgunned but defending nonetheless. The colonials brought in half-tracks we couldn't counter and also there was some sweaty ahh clan pushing, but we were giving them hell. Bunkers were gone everywhere, so the entire hex was practically a battlefield with soldiers and vehicles maneuvering around. I remember how they destroyed our bb and pushed onwards, but I grabbed a lot of ammo just in time and got into some random foxhole, let the vehicles pass by and started shooting soldiers that were advancing up the road. They couldn't do anything to me and had to bring in a half-track with a machine gun to finally get rid of me 😂 I also made some friends in that hex. I remember them logging off and 5 o'clock, then coming back at 12, and seeing me still online. They asked me when I logged in, and I responded that I just never left, and was holding this position the entire time 😂 That war instantly made me a warden loyalist.

It was a night battle in the city, with flares launching, and shots being fired. I been tyere just for 30 minutes then I left. When I came back, we lost the city and wardens were pushing south. There was a big concrete bunker base, that reminded me of Maginot line. It was constantly shelled by arty and then by fire rockets. I was doing my best to help repair it, but it fell. However, that feeling, of being shelled constantly, that was one of the best moments jn my gaming history

The first streamer I watched was I think Kronus, and that was a good thing, helping a war effort and around late November I bought the game. I got set back a few real life issues but I probably joined day 6-8 of war 109, joined Collies and asked where WLL was, got told they were Warden, and then switched to Warden and made my way to GWD where I saw a map post saying WLL Mcduck. After bouncing around a few of WLLs facilities they accepted me as a recruit and now I'm a proud WLL Legionnaire with 334 Hours in this game. My 1. tip in this game is to find a regi that fits you as it will help massively.

First experience was just some toe dipping by some basic frontline fighting and basic logi, didn’t put in many hours. Probably just around 50-100. The facility update drew me and my 3 friends in to put in some serious hours, we set up an arty shell factory. We had to contend with a nearby clan that was hogging all 3 pumpjacks while us and a 3rd factory were left high and dry, eventually they gave us the oil we needed but it took a lot of arguing. Then an alt kept draining our BB of supplies, stealing our vehicles, and actively sabotaging the factory wherever he could. We had to deal with it for 4 days where every time we log in we had to repair everything due to drained gsups. He evaded bans due to changing names, we talked to everyone around to report him but he was likely on china time and did everything at 6am. The grind for upkeep supplies was already really rough, on average we would have to grind for 3 hours every day to upkeep everything (esspecially when it all gets drained overnight). Eventually we just said “F*** it” and gave up on upkeep and just used what we had to make hundreds of arty shells and rockets. The arty gameplay that followed was great, but we were so tired of dealing with alts and clans and gsup grind that we were done with the game for the following year. It was horrible having my own team give me more trouble than the enemy. All in all from our experience I would not recommend dedicating yourself to large-scale projects like facilities, frontline bases, or ships, as clans and alts will make that a living hell, but simpler gameplay like tank crewing or arty gameplay is great fun. Nothing beats having a spotter, loader, and gunner coordinating to rain hell on the enemy and your spotter yelling “you’re on target keep firing, OH MY GOD THEY ARE DROPPING LIKE FLIES!”.

50-100 hours in your first war is still pretty good! I think I ended at around 140 hours before I actually put Foxhole down for couple wars. And then I came back couple months later and have not put it back down ha. Building a arty shell factory with friends sounds fun! I honestly see the political and negotiate side of Foxhole as part of the game. I know some people think it's a big pain but I am somewhat glad it's an element in the game still. Sorry the alt situation happened to you though :/ I hope you were able to get screenshots of the logs and kept trying to report them and hopefully something gets handled with this. Good on you for pushing through this crappy situation. And I agree that I would not recommend any small groups dedicating time to large facility projects. You need a large group to keep it maintained. Thanks for sharing your perspective and story from this! Appreciate it!

LifeSword3 here, my first war was also a bridge fight at Tomb of the First in Loch Mor, it happened during Charlie's last war and I held for about five hours before logging off. I didn't know much about the game at the time, I've learned most of it by playing on Able and meeting likeminded players sharing their own experience with me. I'm closing 700h now onto my fourth war as of war 112, logi is also my main gameplay loop because there's nothing like saving an entire region with a train worth of all sorts of supplies or armor and the more you do logi, the more you meet people and make friends. I don't regret anything about playing this game because of that.

Each time I started at the very backline, made my first truck with Rifles, med supps, and ammo and drove it all the way to the gront to supply a BB which was just build. Then I set spawn and used my own weapons I supplied. I can not think of a better way to start into Foxhole for the first time.

Just passed 1000 hours myself! I joined a couple weeks into War 100. I chose Colonials and went through the training course. The first place I spawned was The Blemish in the Heartlands, but I believe my first front was Callahan's boot, in the Deadlands. However, that was short-lived. I ended up going to Tomb of the First in Loch Mor, and got to see firsthand the grind that can be a bridge battle. Loch Mor became my main hex for the war. I helped defend Feirmor from Warden pushes from both the East and the West, and I remember at one point helping a push to successfully take the Westmarch relic base by guarding the left flank of a tank.

My first experience, i did the tutorial, learned how to crouch, run, use weapons, and i thought to myself "oh okay, i see, that's how you play the game", then i spawned in westgate on the backline, not sure what to do honestly. I was walking along the road to go to... somewhere... then a truck passed by and slowed down. He asked me if i was lost, and indeed, i was lost. He then invited me to hop on his hauler and he taught me how to do basic logi, it was a great first experience. Now i have 600 hours in the game, and i really like doing logi in the backline, running facility and everything. That and stabbing wardens with my bayonet.

my first experience was a sleep deprived weekend with 8 friends building an in hindsigth absolutly overstocked; poorly designed fort; in a useless spot. In 1 nigth 2 soldiers came and took our stock to the nearest front. Again, in hindsigth. Yes understandable but at the time it infuriated me and my friends, 1 half quit the other was kind of demotivated. We wanted to build a base and gather ressources, but we didnt know a lot about the game. Some months later I met in another war a very experienced loner. Spend nigths with him, partisan action, tapping bases, driving tanks, learning the game. Again a couple months later I met a clan in my native language. Joined and actually enjoyed the game then. Still cherish those moments. Working a couple days to stockpile the ressources and then participate in a larger operation. With an established logistics corps, engineers and the grunts on the front. You could do anything while the rest was still running smoothly. There was always somebody more experienced you could ask. Sadly i no longer have the time for it.

Hello, I have a question about the game. I was quite interested when "Inferno" was released, but at that time I heard a lot of negative things. Specifically, there were too many servers with too few players, and the logistics became significantly more complicated, making solo play slower and less impactful. What is the current state of the game? Has it improved? Is now a good time to start?
@RobertLovesGames5 ай бұрын
Hello! There is only one server currently so yes it has improved. The devs always open 1-2 extra servers when they do big updates like the inferno one which normally causes issues for while but smooths itself out after while. State of the game is great right now. Great population and fun. New update is coming out after this current war and the game is on sale right now. I would say almost any time is a great time to start. Maybe not in between wars. I heard that there is a big presence of factions and that you wont be really able to build anything without their approval is that so or am i wrong?
@RobertLovesGames7 ай бұрын
Yes and No. Depends on what you are trying to build. They building system is better now that they took away some punishing decaying mechanics. But you may still have groups that want to build around resource fields or frontline builders that think they know better when it comes to building frontline defenses. So it really depends on what your goal is with building. If you want to just build for the sake of trying building out then you need to find an area that no one is really around. My biggest recommendation if you want to do building would be to find someone that is already an expert and learn from them and then start to do your own building. Does that answer your question?

I played around 40 hours last year But I ended up getting bored I’m looking at getting back init how do I find a group to play with?
@RobertLovesGames3 ай бұрын
Nice! Depends on what kind of group you are looking for and what faction. DM me on discord and it will be easier for me to find you a group if you decide to jump back in.

300 hours and stop for a while but it's realy a great game. Indeed the que sucks and sometimes its making me quit..
@RobertLovesGames3 ай бұрын
Nice! I hate the que. As a logi player I want my own que. I think it would help a lot with fronts.

I think i already told the story of my first time but why not again! I joined around war 95-99 (its before 100 i remember correctly but i forgot what war) when my friend kinda push me to save for foxhole, i already know this game from Moidawg so i really want it. I joined the wardens and spawned in Ash field. At that time we are pushing their logi base. I came outside and immediately got myself runned over by a logi truck. Spawned again and grabbed some weapons. Now i dont know why up until now I always find gaps in enemy lines and can flank them lmao. And in this first time i manage to outflank the entire Collie lines and get to their other hex 😂. Anyways other than that the urban combat is intense and fun. I remember there was this medic who saved me under multiple machine guns fire and he managed to save me, very cool. I now have 160 hours... I have taken a break multiple times from wars because I am busy most of the times. Nowadays I played foxhole only 3-10 hours per week sadly. It's a fun game, but the burnout is very real... Especially late in the war. I'll give foxhole a 8.5/10, it needs fixing especially with queues i hate waiting for 3 hours only to be disconected and loses my number 1 spot while waiting. Anyways that's all... Sayonara!

Woo! Thanks for telling it again! Love that you got hit by logi truck right away ha! Right of passage for some Foxhole players. Love urban combat! Wish I could do more of it like Abandoned Ward! Hey playing foxhole 3-10 hours a week is good! Nice casual play! I'm glad you know where your burnout is and you don't over do it. QoL is still very much needed so I am right with you where I would say Foxhole is currently sitting around 8/10. Thanks again for sharing this!

My first experience was shard 2(during war 80 shard 1) I spawned into sitaria and did some logi. The oldest memory I have is probably me and a few other noobs messing around with the harvester and getting team killed by it in the process
@RobertLovesGames8 ай бұрын
Doing logi right away! That's awesome! And that sounds like a fun time with the harvester ha! Thanks for sharing that!

As player with aroud 2.5k hours in this game i still find new stuff to do. Also clans realy help with staying in this game for longer time.
@RobertLovesGames8 ай бұрын
Glad to hear that even at 2.5k hours you still find new stuff to do! And I agree big groups continuing to play help this game a lot! Thanks for sharing that!
@JaxCarpenter-uz1prАй бұрын
I know this may be late, but getting this for a friend, I know the whole airborne stuff is coming, so on your basis, what do you think is most fun, medic, sailor, tank, or base infantry (my friend dosent want to build trains with me😡😡😡) (or also paratrooper if you think that’ll be fun when they add it)
@RobertLovesGamesАй бұрын
Nice! That's awesome to hear! I tell players to learn a bunch of different roles so you can switch around whenever you want. I think just focusing on one role can cause burnout and make you not like this game very quick. Feel free to DM me on discord if you have any more questions or need help finding things to do :D
