Love the build! Been following this bike for a few months now and checking out your old videos. What did you use to grind down the kickstand metal? And did you leave the stock CDI on?

Thanks bud. Yes stock CDI. I tried the NCY CDI and it was worse. I want to try again now that I have a bunch of mods. Maybe I will do that tomorrow. I just ground it down with my harbour freight 4" angle grinder then hit it with spray paint.

@BodyByCliff I am "ghetto" lol. It is one of those "ragged" vinyl flag decals for back of truck window. I cut it up into stripes and stars.

Thanks bud. I live in Sebring. It does anywhere between 68 and 73 depending on the day.... you know how that is. So I call it 70. Never heard of the clutch blowing up. Would make for a good video tho. LOL

@@GhettoWrench it's a metuckus I built. With a gorilla motor works 150cc gy6 motor. Has a taida t300 cam, stock head stock bore, ncy drive face, 846 belt, koso 115mm var, 11g sliders and a sspg clutch bell.. that's pretty much it mod wise. Besides rider mod 😉 I'm in Jax. We gta link and ride one day!

Also, is the stock one just for turning signals or do both lights act as a break light?

Most light is you get ebay and Amazon now have built in turn signals. The issue is they are all 12v DC and if your scooter was made in China it is most likely 12v AC. Your brake and your blinkers are even 12V DC from China. It is the running light that is always on that is an issue. You have to run a 12V DC to the back for that light. You can't tap into the brake or blinker because they are bot on all the time.

So on ur maddog is this eBay light just your break light and the stock is you running light and turning signals? Do I need another part to install this? Sorry for the questions but I’m just not sure in this.

@tonyapemberton that tail light on the black bike is a stock Gen 5 tail light. When you turn your key on without starting your bike does your tailight come on? Or does it only come on when it's running? If it only comes when running then it is an AC light. with just the key on and not running, you ONLY have battery power which is DC. Your blinkers and brake lights should work because they are DC. The stock light on that bike has AC LED bulbs as well as DC LED bulbs in same light. The DC bulbs light up for blinker on one side of light or both sides for brake. The AC bulbs are always on when running. If your bike running or just tail light come in with only the key being on then it is easy. It is all DC and the lights you buy on ebay are all DC. Do you have that tail light or are you wanting to get that taillight? If you find it in ebay it will be all DC I suspect.

With your rusty Nuts and bolts Heat them till hot and drop in old oil should black them of I've been successful with that if there steel Aliminum bolts wire wheel them and polish put I would use steel

@michaelhatala way better. And it has a set screw to tighten it to the round key barrel part. It does not have that tab hanging down a bolt goes in... if you have the tab secured type.

Do you know what parts are interchangeable between the generations? I have 2014 (I have no idea what gen that is if you do let me know) and would just use parts of a newer bike since they’re easier to find

It depends on what parts. Does it have 2 shocks or 1? If only one is there a mount for one on the right side frame? How many spokes does the front wheel have? I will prob know generation from those questions. What parts you looking to change?

@@GhettoWrench 2 shocks on the rear, 6 spoke on the front. I’m only going off photos I have since it’s buried in a shed. Just looking for stuff like exhaust and some body stuff (seat, battery cover, replacement screws for battery cover)

@lastresort1757 ok. That is a Gen 1. It could technically be a Gen 2 or 3, but people only speak in Gen 1, 4 and 5. All those front end and battery boxes pieces shoukd be the same. The only thing majorly different that makes problems is the rear hub and rear wheel spacing.

I’m thinking about getting this or the trike version. Currently have the x18 r6 clone from venom. But having issues and I need transportation. I have to get a 50cc but how easy would it be to put a 150cc on it?

My 50cc x18 blew so I basically tried to convert to a 150cc so I did custom motor mount a whole shabang. So I have all sorts of parts.

If you have a welder or someone that can weld the mounts then the 150 conversion is easy enough. The CDI, coil etc... all fits either bike so it will plug into the 50 harness. The 150 has mounts on top of engine where 50s are on bottom so that is the only issue and why you need to weld on mounts.

Did you change the starter relay? The little round thing with 2 posts on it inside the battery box by the CDI. If you reverse those 2 cables it might do that. Those are side specific
