Will a 150 carb work on a 80cc build without being jetted ?
@RickyBishКүн бұрын
Ok so i put together a 80cc motor .. i used ..used parts but they were in great condition .. except for the piston rings but im not sure what head to use exactly i have a bunch of stock 50 heads some have a better or deeper combustion chamber and some hardly have any .. i dont know what one would be better to use .. right now it seem it has way too much compression .. but at the time i had the motor on the scooter my kick start was broken and the electric start wasnt spinning it fast enough .. actually is was very vey slow .. now i have a kick start to use . So i may keep motor the way it is and try and kick it . But what do yall think does it sound like too much compression with my very Lil bit of information . Any help would be appreciated 👍 thanks

I have a couple different ones and I think two of them look like they have some type of plastic in side of them but just by looking at them they kinda look the same size but I'm not sure to be honest . And weight . They fell just a tad bit different. Just by holding in my hand. But that either I'm not sure .. so this video is going to be pretty helpful

Well damn! Now I wish I had watched this vid before ordering the PE!😁 I’ve got a 19mm CVK on still (first thing I replaced) after getting scooter going when it was given to me a couple years ago. I like the idea of quicker throttle response for the fun factor, but think the higher top speed is more beneficial for riding in traffic. And like you said, they just work once you get them dialed in. 👍🏼

Hello, i love your videos, you are very smart for these gy6 engines, i would like to know your opinion on the Malossi 88cc cylindery, i have a 139qmb and im probably going to install this cylinder, they say to use the original head, but they also sell a performance Cam, i was thinking to get a new stock head, and put valves from a 150 and the racing cam from malossi, do you think that is a good setup? im 15 and on a budget, the cylinder is 190euros, and cam 110ish euros, and i cant order from ncy or any american sites beacuse shipping is very expensive, but from malossi i get free shipping beacuse its more than 100 euro,thanks in advance!
@Aleksa1244 күн бұрын
i mean valve springs from a 150, and stock 139qmb valves. If that is possible
@GhettoWrenchКүн бұрын
@Aleksa124 Malossi makes great stuff so you can't go wrong. I have never used that head though. The Valves on 150 are bigger than the Valves on the 50 head. They won't work. The whole head won't fit because the stud spacing is wrong.
@GhettoWrenchКүн бұрын
@Aleksa124 Those 150 Valve springs are too heavy. You would have to be turning over 11000 RPM to make them worth it. They are hard enough to compress that they would slow the engine down. They are thicker than the NCY and Taida performance Valves. They do fit though.

thanks do you have any info on durability over the ruckus or are these just fine?
@GhettoWrench11 күн бұрын
@anotheryoutuber_ the ruckus is a honda and will be way better quality and durability. The issue is that when you start modding the ruckus it usually gets stretched, 150cc engine, wheels, suspension, bars, pegs etc etc and it all comes from China. So you end up with the same thing. The original frame is all that remains. The maddog frame is strong so the maddog is already stretched with a 150cc and has the big wheels on it. Just a lot cheaper way to end up with the same thing.

BTW, in the US, all Uncle Sam really cares about is your VIN#. If you're VIN# says it's a 50cc, then it can be registered as a 50cc. So if you swap a 150cc engine onto a 50cc VIN# frame, it's still considered a "50cc". Definitely not legal advice, or advice at all, but that's just how it works here.

The video where everybody was waiting for! Thanks for testing this! I guess in the end it all makes sence why GY6's are standard paired with a CVK carb. I couldnt get my PWK setup to be performing better than the out of the box CVK setup either.. PWK definitely gives a way more snappy and racey feeling, but the actual numbers tell us something else. The convenience of being able to start your scooter in the winter with the CVK carb without a hazzle is also worth a lot!

Do you happen to know what it means if i have liquid(im guessing fuel) in my vaccum line from carb to pump?
@GhettoWrench15 күн бұрын
@nicskeptic there is a rubber diaphragm inside vacuum fuel pumps. It is flat and between the 2 halves almost like a gasket. Most likely it is torn and leaking and gas is getting from the fuel side to the air side. You can replace it, but a new fuel pump may be just as cheap.

@GhettoWrench19 күн бұрын
@Smodlee That halo wire on the light you bought is also supposed to be DC. The wire going to the Gen 5 Halo light is AC. I did not even use that wire. I just hooked the Halo up to the low beam. Maybe the AC current is not compatible with it. Mt low beam burned out on that Ali Express light already. So now halo is my low beam or daytime lights and high beam is just the light for night time.
