It’s crazy to compare how your island looks now to the original terrain! It’s weird building your city on garbage doesn’t affect unity, that seems like a massive oversight lol. Especially because you can zoom in and see the garbage peeking up in between the sidewalks, that seems like it would be really unpleasant.

If the game penalised me for putting housing on garbage I wouldn't have. Instead I would of put down a 1 tile layer of rock on top, and left everything underneath as garbage!

Always good to get a first hand comparison of just how small and poorly laid out my island is.... Thanks Dick ! Currently in the process of re-doing my manufacturing / smelting. Going to lay it out like you did food. Upgradable lines.

35:35 I agree the slab exhaust is not a big deal, but if you wanted to scrub it without long-pipe pains or redesigning the layout, it looks like the existing footprint has a chance to cut and paste over the legacy power setup near the scrubber that has been paused. I have no clue whether it would actually fit into the space easily, but it would only be short runs to the existing infrastructure and scrubbing. Also, I have no clue on whether that would mess up water flow near the farms or exceed scrubbing capacity.

In the future when we can turn CO2 into a useful product I will be grabbing all the exhaust and make sure im scrubbing it all to get as much CO2 as possible

ALSO... they need to ADD TO THE GAME... when map mines like your Uranium mine reashes 100 percent full it pauses and refunds the workers without us having to constantly pause and unpause ...it is really dumb to have to do that.... just wastes resources and tons of unity!!!

I try to never have mine fill up, by working out the total amount i need per minute, and then setting the miner to be as close to that number as possible, but always just under it. With alerts set on the import tank, so IF it gets super low ill just drag the world miner up one notch, when the tank gets high ill drag it down a notch. I think when mines are full you stop paying the unity and maintenance cost but not the people cost

So, I was nodding off at a few points. I blame lunch and staying up a bit late last night. Towards the end, you mentioned that you bumped up against the edge of the map. So, you have discovered how far out you can landfill the ocean? Does it have a discernable shape? Where is the middle of the map in relation to those hard edges? Very interesting. I wish that I could have paid attention throughout the entire video. Unfortunately, it is too long for me to re-watch, because I have too many other competing interests, including recordings where I was not able to participate live during meetings. This game is tempting me each time that I see your videos. I just wish that I had more free time.

The edge has no real shape that I can tell, the devs do have a bug report of the 'interesting' shape of the edge of the map and will be looking at it in the future.

Lots of LONG belts are in order. But then again my power usage is very very high due to these long belts. I now have 7 belts I think it is running the length of the map, which is 700w of power used constantly!
