£10000 Mountain bike vs £275 Budget MTB! I put the 10k Canyon Strive ON electric MTB against a cheap Ammaco bike that cost £275 in the january sale by riding MTB trails, jumps and send tricks! But how long will it last?
The head to head bike challenge is back and this time Canyon were lovely enough to supply me with a top of the range Canyon Strive ON CFR electric mountain bike that is aimed at the gnarly world of enduro. And in the opposing corner we have the £275 Ammaco mountain bike which is about as cheap as you can go with a bike before its too dangerous to even consider. For today's video we head to Woburn Bike Park in the UK to find some big jumps and technical trails. But how different can these two bikes really be?

It's actually not that great an advert as although it far outclasses the cheapo bike it's not enough over a medium price steed to justify the cost. Not that anyone needs justification to purchase what they want

Strip the frame... Do a budget build with upgraded wheels and forks. Derailer the works keep it under $1000 including purchase price see what you end up with! 👌🏻👌🏻

Great vid as always but one is a E-Bike!! not the best match-up for a comparison on performance. how about another vid eventually on this but compare Canyons cheapest bare bones model Versus there most expensive no electric bike. Maybe with anther Canyon rider sponsor with you. be sick for both you and Canyon! you both have the same bike and same challenges. Just a idea!!! I was pumped to get that mid week vid!!!

When I was looking for a new bike the £2500-£3500 price point seemed to be a nice sweet spot for anyone who does MTB as a proper "Hobby" and they just want a good quality bike, that you can use everyday on the trails and it won't fall apart. To be honest that's still a chunk of change to part with though, especially if you have bills to pay and a family, bike prices are horrendous at the moment. I paid £3000 for my Intense in a sale (It had a £1000 off) and I ride it about 3x a week and it's a dream to ride, but I still stare at it and think "Could've used that cash to put towards my kitchen extension". :-D

For a beginner like me with not much "big" stunt trails near me, my 90's mountainbike is holding up pretty well so far! I only managed to bent my rear wheel a little, but I just keep on turning the spokes and readjusting it until its time for a new wheel 😂

With Sam's level of expertise in bike shredding, I believe that he can control the way he does certain manoeuvres such as high speed turns and flares, in such a way that he can destroy the back wheel whenever he chooses by putting more stress on the wheel on purpose.

There's a reason those kind of bikes have those warning ⚠️ stickers...they are made in bulk in china and the reliability is quite shit...I live in japan and there are bikes by the side of the road that have broken and just abandoned.... buying a quality bike does pay off for sure but the prices these days are outrageous... It would be really interesting if you tried the Voodoo bazinga for a test like this as it has been rated the best bike for under a grand for many years now, how well does it actually handle? How robust is it really? It would be great to see your opinion on how good it really is, or isn't, it would help alot of people out as many buy the bazingo as a recommended first mountain bike

As a big fan of you Sam - you completely missed with this one.. the best bike is the one that puts smile on your face... on another note I would like to point out that this is going way into extreemes.. vs 10k bike a budget bike would be like 3k bike or maybe if you want rly budget a 1k bike that is still 10x cheaper... maybe like giant fathom 2: its under 1k and has 29 tubeless , hidraulic brakes, more agressive fork angle, droper post, quite o.k rims... or a canyon Neuron al - less than 1.5k and a 130mm fully - i bet its alot of fun and also durable... the new bikes apart from the price realy havent advanced much except that they seem to break more often.. and then e-bike.... well.. why dont you test a 10k e-bike vs 10k mx bike.. both need some external power source to move preoperly...
