If it wasn't for An Ocean Between Us (Album) coming into my life at the perfect time during one of the most difficult times of my life, I probably would never have started playing guitar. Nick and Phil are 2 of my favourite guitarists and human beings, these 2 lads paved the way for newer Metalcore and in my opinion were way ahead of there time. Despite the controversies with the band's past, As I Lay Dying were my favourite band for a long time and this video is very important to me. When I started playing guitar it was my goal to play these songs, I probably achieved that a long time ago but to make a video of this quality is even more satisfying. Please give a thumbs up, a sub, a comment, everything helps me continue making quality videos. Cheers guys! ❤❤

Well done. And also thanks for playing more than just 7 seconds of the riff and moving on. Love the longer format than what everybody else does
@CaseyWalle2 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude, first person to really comment on that aspect. A lot of the time, the thing that makes a riff good, is the build up or the transition. It's hard to enjoy 7 seconds of a riff when there's really no climax.

Dude, you killed those riffs. It was so satisfying to sit and stare at those riffs when I've pictured how they might look for so many years. I'm dusting off the cobwebs and joining a cover band to perform a few "2008 myspace metalcore" shows and 'Nothing Left' is on the setlist. That song is way harder to get tight than I thought. Your control and ability to silence any white noise was great, I hope I can achieve the same thing, especially live.

lads.. i really want to find some band like As I Lay Dying... someone have some sugestion, pls??? I've heard a lot of metalcore thru 10 ro 15 years.. But is hard to find some band with this rich guitars riffs, powerfull voice and profund letter... Do u understand?? Modern Metalcore is alway talking about women and "bad-governants"... its so boring.. I want something more deep.. AILD talks about religion, moral questions, rage against our superficial lives, seeking something more.... The thematics have sense with "being metal"... well.. I miss bands like this... do u have any sugestion?

I'll say this much: as long as Tim and Phil are still the primary writers, AILD will not die. They are the soul of the band - but losing three of the longest tenured members (and one of the best lead guitarists and overall nice guys in the entire industry) is a hard pill to swallow. They're about done with the new record, so we'll have to wait and see.
