Just my opinion, Larry asking why didn’t the 86 come stock with a turbo…? My opinion is, Toyota was trying to achieve a ‘tuner’ status with its potential customers. Make a good base car, then watch the masses turn it into their own….🤷🏻♂️ I.e older Honda Civic’s, ITR’s, MR-2’s. Maybe they created this car to be a replacement for those iconic ‘tuner’ cars from yesteryear…

For 44.000 to me the GT86 GR didn't feel like the money worth Especially since a Official Toyota dealer wanted to sell me a used one,not a new one. If it had the 2JZ or at least a Turbocharged Boxer yes,but without it makes no sense to pay that much money. The Inflated price was ridiculous for the a used one. Well my current car having a 2.0L Gasoline Turbo is much more fun as well as been stock with 275hp I can later on Tune my Hyundai i30N too.
@BB-wz6bx11 ай бұрын
Why not buy a used mustang 5.0 or hell, even a v6 camaro would blow the doors off the i30N too. I doubt your heavy electrically overnannied i30N is more fun than a GR86.
@neromastic451211 ай бұрын
@@BB-wz6bx First of all,Emissions as here in Germany you pay for a V6/V8/V10 the biggest amount of money because of emissions. Second of all the Hyundai i30N is no Electrical I dont know where your smooth brain got that idea from. And Third the i30N is made for cutting corners,something a Heavy Mustang with a 5.0 can forget. And we all know what Mustang Drivers cant do in a 90° road turn.
@BB-wz6bx11 ай бұрын
@@neromastic4512 Reading comprehension: electrically overnannied= too much modern this and that "driving modes" cool for those who like them I guess. 2Bad Germany has that emission tax. I30N is made for cutting corners alright, built to a budget - not a bad thing though. Who would've thought that handling a 400+HP RWD car is more difficult than a FWD souped up econobox? Shocker.
@neromastic451211 ай бұрын
@@BB-wz6bx Sure,the car is more Old meet New School as to what Version you get,the lates ones been too much tech Imagine having 300 HP for a FWD and trying to grip,and you go beyond that it apply to all cars where it can loose grip. Even RWD and only exception been AWD. Beside that its very affordable to me to own one,unlike the 10% inflated 86 I wanted to by that totally is "New" according to the Official Toyota Dealer I was at. Not to mention seen a Article of a owner blowing they engine on they brand "New" Toyota GT 86 GR 2023 that just so happen I deny to buy. To top it off,I can tune the Hyundai i30N here much more easier then the 86 as to how Tuner Friendly the i30N is compared to the 86 in Japan.
@BB-wz6bx11 ай бұрын
@@neromastic4512 Tax emissions suck in Europe, just take a look at their price in the US, much more cheaper and reasonable, though still - nothing new is comparable on the market to it except for the mx-5. Their used price will remain high most definitely for years to come. Issues come up with every car, social media likes blow things out of proportion, had a previous gen BRZ for 200k+ miles and nothing went wrong. Though it wasn't raced every month either. One plus for forced induction is tunability, true, can't really do much with an NA engine without spending 10x times more compared to turbo gainz.
