Sir., What is mean by velocity of vein at inlet and outlet ?. Since the vein is fixed on runner, then why there are two terms as velocity of vein at inlet and velocity of vein at outlet ? whether only one velocity term is enough for describing both of them ?

Water hits the vane and loses it's velocity.

Sir, since the water jet strikes at inlet tangentially and not at an angle to the vertical axis of bucket, how the jet velocity is resolved into horizontal and vertical components ?

Tangential flow means, jet is Tangential to the runner shaft.

@@100Engineering yes of course sir. Actually I considered the radial line of the shaft as vertical axis of the bucket at when jet velocity strikes on it tangentially. Sir, whether this tangential force can be resolved into two components ? If so what are the terms actually meant by whirl velocity and flow velocity ?
