You wanna talk about unfair then try the latest Crash Bandicoot game made by the same assholes that made this game. Crash Bandicoot 4 can go suck a dick. That is the absolute worst game ever made! Terrible level design and extremely unfair enemies makes it unplayable and makes this level in Spyro feel like a cake walk. Not even the first 3 Crash games were anywhere near as bad.

yeah, was thinking when I originally played this in the late 90s on PS1 I would definitely had to go to the old dial up internet to get hints and tips. With the internet speed at the time there was definitely no walkthrough videos!

For those who struggle with gliding here’s some hot tips: Actually hold down jump for a second rather than tapping it, it makes a huge difference in the height you get. Try jumping while charging at the same time then glide at the top of your jump, you’ll get further range. Practice over and over again hitting glide at the very top of your jump. Do this on the ground rather than from a ledge where you’ll waste time and lives. Make sure both Spyro and the camera are facing the exact direction you want to go. Adjusting direction mid flight shortens your range. Hope this helps.

Misty Bog. This level gave me a headache the first time I played until I learned when to charge in and when not to, choose my targets wisely (I made the big boars my highest priority target when mixed with other enemies) and to be quick with my flame attack on those attack frogs.

In the very beginning the cage will go down on the chicken. If you kill the frog, then release the chicken, you can unlock the "cage free" achievement.

they nerfed the frog here. on original, they are way faster. you need to approach them quickly and burn them before they hit u. and its also risky if u charge them. on remake i can simply charge them with no hesitation an all

I think that was added by TFB to help people keep at least a small sliver of their sanity when trying to make some of the harder glides. As far as I can tell it's only in Spyro 1 because in 2 and 3 the far more useful hover mechanic exists as part of the control scheme; in 1, he sort of pulls himself up automatically if you're really close to the edge-and I mean REALLY close.
