It is one of the main reasons I absolutely LOVE video game challenge runs. The parts where they have to do crazy glitch stuff in order to conform to arbitrary rules, liek Mario 64 minimum A press, or Dark Souls 3 in alphabetical order, where they use 6 players laddering by backstabbing each other for like 50 hours or something like that.

As far as I'm concerned, glitches are perfectly fine for a challenge run like this. The devs may not have intended for you to use them, but they didn't intend for you to ignore Spyro's wings, either, did they? This was an incredible run, and you've improved a lot! I lost it every time you pronounced "Jacques" that way, though, lol. It's the French version of "Jack" because he's a jack-in-a-box.

Agreed. I generally am fine with glitches unless it's something that can totally break the game. Many speedruns have categories like "No AJS" or "NMG" etc, because otherwise run would be too quick, chaotic and confusing. You can easily beat multiple GTA games in few minutes by using AJS - arbitrary jump in script. Or Hollow Knight with major glitches would confuse even people who understand the glitches from technical side. I think MG run is 2 or 3 minutes long. Compared to 30+ minutes for NMG. But breaking the game is not fun if done too much, because in some games you can really just skip 90%+ game or more. Even the objectives themselves.

Level storage is such a cool glitch. I don't even want to imagine the testing and experimentation needed to figure that one out. I love how it completely destroys levels and sends you into the void if you so much as mess up in the slightest. I feel like glitches are what make this channel so unique. Sometimes, breaking the game is the only way to beat these challenges, and that's completely fine.

Level and fairy storage are some of the coolest glitches out there. I remember doing the peace keepers fairy storage so many times that I had 542% completion on peace keepers.(it works on PC now)

Glitches are part of the logic of the game engine. Unintended, but still. It's not cheating because you don't change anything in the code and don't use console cheats either. Level storage is the same as cool obscure tricks in Tony Hawk - not necessarily required to complete the game, and a lot of people will need outside instructions on how to achieve that, but ultimately it isn't cheating. I'd have a different opinion if it were a multiplayer game as there'd be an element of active disadvantage, however that'd still be more on the devs than the players imho.

Awesome vid as always and a slight error for the High Caves,you actually CAN get on both of the pillars controlled by the wizards with an optimized Coyote Time Charge Jump from the first one while the second pillar is on the right at its lowest point(I'm doing my own Glideless challenge and just succeeded in making the jumps). You also CAN jump onto the roots of the stumps in Beast Makers to get the Key and the Gems

I'm dumb,I mistakenly misremembered it wasn't in the Home World where you said you couldn't stand on the roots and I was on the platform where the Superflame Fairy kisses you,it's extremely easy to get onto the first pillar from there and it's higher up than the second so it can also be made with a Coyote Time Charge Jump.

Every proxy is a glitch, because it's abuse of a mechanic that wasn't intended. Otherwise double jump in original Spyro 2 isn't a glitch either. I generally make distinction between glitch and bug and nothing else. Bug is unintended, often ruining the gameplay to a player that doesn't want to perform it. Like, let's say, you fall of the map and you can't consistently and/or deliberately perform it yourself. But anything that is unintended by the game, but relatively easy to perform for a player is a glitch. And by relatively easy I mean something that human can do, knows rules of etc. Not necessarily something that anyone can do in few tries. Even if speedrunner struggles with a glitch, it's still a glitch if there is a consistent (but difficult) way of doing it. But falling through the map, where it's impossible to even guess how that would happen (like in some TAS videos in some games) is a bug. Something that player doesn't want to do. Glitch usually happens only when player wants to do it. Bug usually happens when player isn't aware of. But it's possible of using bug intentionally, but it's hard to perform a bug. EDIT: Also I am fine with glitches anyway. Challenge runs are to me glitched runs by default. I just don't like glitches that break the game entirely, like make you just run on air or something like that. They are fun to know about, but using them kills the fun. Though I love swimming in the air glitch. But I would ban it from the challenge run like this. Though Spyro 1 didn't have any swimming anyway, so it doesn't really matter here. EDIT2: The 75 minute thing is a bug, not a glitch, because technically you have no control over it. It just happens without your deliberate intention. And it's not game breaking like usually glitches are and can actually benefit the player. That's what I meant by bugs that can be used by glitches. I didn't knew about this one, but there are some bugs, that are usually not intentional for the player and are also unwanted, but sometimes they can be used for benefit of the player. And this bug is like that.

37:34 I literally had a nightmare about this. I dreamed I was playing a Spyro game with my best friend, but the game was…unstable, and I got to somewhere that didn't actually exist, it was a dark void with some particles and distant things and Spyro tumbled through it with the in-air death animation from Dawn of the Dragon. I know it doesn't sound scary, but it was a nightmare, so like, things were scary that shouldn't have been, and just seeing Spyro falling through that void instilled a primal terror in me. The imagery at this timestamp genuinely triggers me, I can feel my chest seizing up as I watch this bit. I can't believe this is real. O.O
