Regarding the voiceovers, it’s the opposition of the silly scenarios/descriptions with the deadpan delivery that makes it work

Oh yeah, the droll, kind of irritated, almost valley-girl (or whatever the version of that would be today) voiceover is what makes the videos really funny.

I think the monotone works so well because it gives the impression that the void horses are the ones who are just SO BORED of the entire human race. They seriously couldn't care less. Their interests lie elsewhere with things you cannot even fathom, foolish human.

It's funny you mention their often illogical personality, as rat terriers are very similar. My mom had three at different points, and they have all had weird rituals, likes, and anxieties. I always describe them as smart enough to have illogical fears, but not smart enough to understand the concept of illogical. One was terrified of pumpkins.

In the old days, borzoi were known as Russian wolf hounds and the only way to get one was as a gift from the Tsar. This explains Abby’s attitude. Sadly, many Russian wolf hounds were put to death after the Russian revolution because they were a symbol of the aristocracy 😢 I have the same problem with my Shiba Inu ever since they heard that Japan had declared them a national treasure. They remind me endlessly of this fact, especially if I’m late with dinner.

Nice to have a face to go with that voice that is so relaxed and calming in your videos I’m a dog fancier from way back before you were born. My husband and I watch your videos and crack up. We’ll be driving along, and I’ll just say, out of nowhere, “In October, Marcy discovered that she had teeth!” or, “haha, peasant!” Your accent and delivery make it so much more funny. But your dogs are hilarious in their own right. Thx for the laughs!

I read your video voice as still yours, but its as if you're an Olympic sports commentator who's telling the crowd about a previous result instead of an event that's still in progress; so you tone down the excitement and just flat-pan the comedy, delivery and timing. Awesome work, keep it up! :)

I have a friend who breeds show quality bernese mountain dogs, and yes they annoyingly only adopt out their puppies if you already have experience with the breed. It's to ensure that whoever is getting the puppy knows what they are getting in for and that the puppy will have it's best chance at being a good dog. Breeders do not want their puppies to end up in shelters so they usually have something in their adoption contracts stating if you cannot take care of the puppy to return it to the breeder and not put it into a shelter.

Congrats, I love your videos. They remind me so much of my own borzoi. Sadly he passed away last year. He was a drama king and I thought I‘m gonna die 10 years earlier because I worried so much. I loved him dearly. Before we owned him, we had a collie. She had the will to please. With our boy it was the other way around. So, if anybody wants to own a borzoi, you should ask yourself first if you got the will to please. They kind of demand it!

Great Danes are my heart breed but they are super social and need lots of attention. I have found that sighthounds make the perfect second dog with their calm self contained personalities. I have previously had three Irish Wolfhounds and one Borzoi, adult or senior rescues so I didn't get to enjoy their puppyhoods. It's great getting to see Marcie grow up. I currently have a full Dane Tempest and a half Borzoi half IW Zephyr. Z was found emaciated and lost in the desert outside Waco. The rescue said he was abandoned, but I am certain he was taken to the desert off leash and failed to recall. Sight hounds are such single-minded creatures, and although they are very loving, by contrast to other breeds their desire to please/obey tends to be fairly low. Comes with that self containment. I especially identify with Abbey's crying. Zephyr is a big crier. We laugh because he will lay in his bed crying because he needs to pee and doesn't want to get up. Sometimes he just lays about whistling thru his nose for no reason I can discern. The story about Abbey crying at the bottom of the stairs is so Borzoi. Thanks for introducing me to Silken Windhounds. I was unfamiliar with the breed and Cleo is very charming. Thanks for the wonderful videos, they are the first thing I look for when I open You-Tube.

I so enjoyed this! I hope you’ll consider doing them at least quarterly! I’m a Golden Retriever person, but grew up with poodles. My parents got a poodle for me when I was 5 so I wouldn’t be jealous when my brother was born. When he was 4 they bred her (they’d purchased her on a breeding contact) and we kept a puppy for my brother. When I was a teen, we rescued a Golden and she was my shadow, trained to the Nth degree. She read my mind. For the 25 years husband and I have been married we have rescued many breeds, but currently have a Golden who is on meds for seizures, and an ancient Golden/Aussie mix. We’re down to 2 from earlier in 2024 having 4… the two just mentioned plus another Golden and a Doberman - another breed that does the teeth clacking. We lost both the elder Golden, who was 14, and the Doberman who was just 5 to cancer. 2024 was a very tough year. Anyway, I’ve always wanted a Borzoi, though my husband is 75, I’m 65 and disabled so a sighthound is probably never in our future. I love your videos, have shared them with tons of folks. Keep up the fun content!

Hi Claire and Domenic! Thank you to you and the girls for letting us in on all of your secrets! I’m only at the 20 minute mark so I haven’t got to Abby’s spell and potion recipes for sending Cleo back into the void temporarily yet, so I’m coming back for that especially. You and your noodles are so gorgeous. My borzoi noodle is dozing quietly beside me and just woke momentarily when you said that their personalities are a bit like cats. It startled her, so I just told her she was having a nightmare and patted her back to sleep (please don’t say that part again, I won’t mention it if you don’t 👍). Love you all, and I’ll come back to the rest soon ❤❤❤❤❤ P.s. I think Marcy is going to develop some black tips on her red body fur - beautiful!

I have greyhounds. 2 of them. So it’s interesting to see your perspectives on other sighthounds. One of mine is a poop eater, the other would prefer to pee on the poops. The energy is also very similar, though greyhounds probably sleep about twice as much. I’ll probably stick to greyhounds forever to be honest. One of mine will be 14 in March and the other 8 in April. Unfortunately my old man is in end of life care so I’m preparing myself for that. I’m not sure if I’ll adopt another for a while. It’ll depend on how my young senior lady handles the change.
